It's basically what the title says.
I don't think that The Phantom of the Opera movie lived up to the Musical, and definitely not the book. If there was not a book or a musical then it would have been good, but the vocals weren't up to par.

You are correct on that.
But I was never a big fan of Sarah Brightman--when she ruined three of my absolutely favourite songs of all time. Anywho!
I heart the movie...because of Gerard Butler. *Swoons* Not only that, but it's Cieran Hinds! It's Caesar!

I feel like some kind of traitor because I can not get enough interest in the movie to watch it, and I don't know why. I usually love this type of stuff. Gerard is cute though.

Really none of the later casts did, but Cristine's part was written to be sung by Sarah Brightman. I thought that was a mistake on Andrew Lloyd Webber's part. I was listening to Crawford's Christmas album on itunes and I was like WOAH it's the phantom singing Christmas songs, weird!

I didn't like the movie for Eargon either, it was nothing like the book.

I am going to bite my tongue about Eragon.
Not because I like it...'cause I don't. But in fear on going onto an inane rant.
On that note! Book and movie of Eragon = Not good.

Even though i love this movie and the book, I have to include Interview witht the vampire. I still love the movie because I saw it before I read the book, but when I read it and saw how much they didn't include in the movie, I was kind of baffled. The book turned out to be pretty good, but I am in the middle of The vampire Lestat atm, and am liking it much more lol

The movie does not even come close to the musical. seeing the musical live is AMAZING. Can't say anything about the book though, since i sadly haven't read it yet.
But I'm not saying I didn't like the movie or anything. I think the actors did a really good job. I became a huge fan of Emmy Rossum after seeing that.
ALSO, I have no idea how true this is, but I hear that Andrew Lloyd Webber is thinking about making a sequel......? How exciting! But I doubt it will live up to the original!
