I came home from work today and went to get the kids at Nana's and Pop's house (Aiodhan's parents). Iko was dead in the middle of the floor (and yes we haul the furry children every day with the non furry children). Iko was my puppy. He stayed by my feet. When I was pregnant with FrooFroo and Jonas...from the time we found out Jonas was gone until they delivered him and FrooFroo, Iko slept sitting up with his head laying protectively over my belly (right over the spot we could always hear FrooFroo's heartbeat the loudest).

Right after we got Iko, Aiodhan got a job in Delaware. For six weeks I lived in Dayton, Ohio waiting for my transfer...with just Iko. We have three other dogs...Kitty stays with FrooFroo, Lorraine stays with Dozer, Chloe stays with Aiodhan. Everyone is upset. Dozer is doing is best to "make Mommy happy".

What makes it harder is April 6th is Bronwyn Hope's seventh birthday. What seven year old doesn't want a puppy? Thankfully I am taking it a whole lot harder than either of the kids. I don't know what I'd do if they were more upset. I feel like I am losing my mind now.

I know everyone is busy with the event. Please forgive me if I lurk more than post. I really don't know how much I am going to want to talk. If you do see me and can spare a hug....I hate to beg.....but I could definitely use one right now.

Thanks for letting me vent, cry, and lose my mind. I love you guys, and I mean that.

Thanks, T1G. Aiodhan and I are hanging in there. My parents are here, so I haven't really been able just to sit and cry....which is what I really need to do. It's nice knowing someone out there cares though. Thank you.

If you ask my mother-in-law or husband they would tell you he was grouchy and aloof like a cat. He was a big baby to me though. And although he was occasionally grouchy with the kids (he'd get up and walk away if they tried to play with him), he was the best guard dog ever and watched them like a hawk. I miss him a lot right now and the timing just really sucked in the grand scheme of things.

*hugs* I'm so sorry about your loss. I'm sure he's up in heaven watching over you and your family even now.
