Sanee
Do you use the bus, or something? o_0
(Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just always been too confusing to me to figure out different routes.)

Yeah, I use the bus. XD Bus #54 goes right by my house and goes all the way downtown so I don't have to transfer. ^^;

Sanee
I don't like using the "My Documents" folder. I have a separate folder entirely, which is where I keep all my stuff. But, I do use the My Music folder. (It's unorganized since iTunes auto-organizes it. -__-)

Surprisingly, I'm super unorganized in real life. I have this file folder in my room where I'm /supposed/ to keep all my school stuff, but I haven't organized it since 8th grade.

I use My Documents only for either My Music (same problem, iTunes) or temporary files. ^^; That's why I have D:/ (pictures, text documents, etc.) and E:/ (music, videos, etc.)

My room is messy, but my computer and desk area = perfect. XD

Sanee
You should probably switch that to "Me encanta el venado....". It doesn't make sense the way you have it.
You know, I actually had some urges to put the guild name in Spanish, but there wouldn't be enough room, and I don't know how to say "Guild" (Maybe "grupo"- group?)
Hehe
"El Venado y El Tornillo:...."
How much confusion would that cause?)

¿De veras? XD It's a defective verb, so I just figured it operated like any direct object pair where the subject can go before or after the verb/object. ^^; Pues, good to know.

nothing wrong with taking buses!

Aside from the fact that the buses in my area freaking SUUCCKK!!!

Hehe, sorry, just had to rant there. But seriously- I work in a city, and live in the suburbs, so I gotta take 2 buses. Nice thing is, cuz the lab I work for is affiliated with a university, I get to ride city buses for free courtesy of the university. So I'm not complaining there....

but the buses in the afternoon, especially during rush hour, are beyond horrible. They are NEVER on time. I don't mind waiting 15, 20 mins for a bus...but an hour? an hour and a half? Repeatedly- nearly every flipping day! The buses are late, and it drives me bonkers.

I would just drive, but that's too expensive. To even get a space in a lot at work (and we have several parking garages just for employee use), you'll be on a waiting list 4-6 years, and then, it's curretnly $300-$400 per month for said space. That's nearly 1/2 my crummy monthly paycheck! *sobs* So...I'm stuck bus'in it. cry

As for the spanish- woot! spanish! Ya know, I had 2 years of that (college classes) and the only thing I know is la ropa = clothes. That's cuz my spanish teacher gave us open book tests cuz she just really didn't care. She was nice, don't get me wrong, but...teaching really wasn't her thing. I never had to study, and I never learned anything. lol.

Ten: That sucks. For the fact that your local buses are troublesome and for the fact that your Spanish teacher was a slacker.

I can personally say that I had the best Spanish teacher for the past one and half years. Her name was Mrs. Winters. She was fun and challenging at the same time. (She'd assign tons of projects.) But, I can't really say anything other than that she was awesome.
However, the teachers I've had for Spanish 1 (Mr. Doose), and for half of Spanish 2 and this year for AP (Mr. Rivera) have been so-so.

SN: Of course. The place you spend most of your life have to be perfect, right? Not that I'm implying that you don't have a life ^^;. But honestly, do you really go out with friends during yuor downtime, or rather boot 'er up,go on LJ, Gaia, etc. and 'tard it up with yuor Internet friends?

I guess that "encantar" and verbs like that can be used in the sense, but it just seems less awkward if you put the verb first.

Example: (Put the way it should be put)

Me encanta el venado- I love the deer

El venado me encanta - I think it's the same meaning, but it comes out more like "The deer loves me" or something.

I can't really explain why, other that by the principle that "if it sounds right, it's right".

Ten: Luckyyyyyy! At our university, you get a discount on the bus passes, but that discount is still $150/term. crying ;

You work for a lab affiliated with a university? Speaking of buses, that's the sort of setting I had Neji working in when I got ignored by a bus that zoomed right on past me... (I'm SO effing sick of that happening. Especially a once-an-hour bus at 10 PM at night.)

Sanee: Uhhh... XD I see one of my IRL friends for lunch once a week when we're done with class, I live with my best friend who also lives online. Other than that, I'm glued to my computer for work and at home. ^^; Most of my good friends are online. There's an animation I saw like, a decade ago, that is TOTALLY my slogan: "A life? What's that and where can I download one?" biggrin

I do a lot of my Japanese on that same principle of, "It sounds right." XD

SN: Man, that saying is epic. I wish there was a screen-tee of that.

We can help each other out with languages. You can help me with Japanese, and I can help you with Spanish. (Assuming that you're taking your first class.)

My first class?! I'm in Spanish 203. XD And the teacher drives me nuts. T.T She's super nice, but she treats us like we're six years old. We start each class with, "Hola, hola, Coca-Cola! ¿Qué te pasa, calabaza? Nada, nada, limonada." WTF.

What the hell?
She calls you guys pumpkins and lemonade?
まったく。。。。

Oh, well, at least she's nice. Most college professors either have a stick shoved up their asses or are too preoccupied with research to help/be nice to their students.

I'm gonna make a Japanese/Asian themed meal soon. I'm excited to make it.
(See the "I'm gonna cook!" thread for more details on what I'm gonna cook.)

No, she doesn't call us that. She just makes us recite that stupid rhyme. -.- めんどうくせぇ~~~っ!子供じゃない~ >_<

Oh, god, food! Esa es una muy, muy buena idea. ToT

¡Sí, sí! A mi me encanta la comida. <3
(Probably is why I have problems with my weight, but whatever.)

Whoo! Spring break/Lazy time!
I can't really call it lazy time though. I've always been slightly lazy, but it's gotten much worse the past 2 or so years. It's not because of my love for Pineapple-Head, is it?
PostPosted: Wed Apr 16, 2008 10:25 pm

Ah! Casi olvidé-- pregunté a mi profesora sobre [subject] me gusta / me gusta [subject] y ella me dijo que no es importante donde se pone el sujeto. ^^; Grammatically, anyway, although we usually hear the subject despues.

(Meh, as long as you're enjoying your food. ^_^)

XD Hey, leave Shika out of this! Mmm... más lazy time? You can call it lazytime even if you've always been slightly lazy. XD What its adjective is doesn't have to correlate to what your adjective is. ^^;

Ah, ya entiendo. Pero, me perfiero más poner el sujeto despues del verbo.

What if I don't want to leave him out of this? surprised
PostPosted: Sun Apr 20, 2008 9:06 pm

XD No me importa si el sujeto está antes de o despues del verbo. Pero... pues, no me gusta español, entonces por supuesto no me importa. ^^;;;

Shikamaru: Oy, Sanee. No es mi culpa que eres perezosa. >_>

Neji: ¿Por qué estás hablando español? Y... ¡¿por qué estoy hablando español?!

Shikamaru: Porque es la lengua del mundo.

Neji: No es. Inglés es.

Shikamaru: Hn. Digalo al texto de D.A.

Neji: ... No voy a hablar al libro. No soy loco.

Shikamaru: Bueno. *smirks* ¿No eres loco para yo?
(Para mi?)

Neji: ... Usa 'estás' alli. Ba~ka.

Shikamaru: *sigh* My point remains.

Neji: English?

Shikamaru: Hey, you used Japanese.

Neji: ... Okay, fine. Whatever. ¿Dame un beso?

Shikamaru: *grin* Anytime.

*chu*

......... I think that's a sign that I should be doing mi tarea del español ahora. *sigh*

(A ficlet for you? XD)

¡A mi me encanta el cuentito que tú escribiste!
"Usa 'estás' allí' = Oooh, burn. I don't Shika should give Neji that kiss after all.
(You did miss a few accents, such as "Dígalo". And, it is "para mi", not "para yo".)
I don't think I like Spanish as much as Japanese, but it's actually not that bad. I used to hate it though. It grew on me like an amoeban mold, divino (I guess).
PostPosted: Mon May 19, 2008 11:44 am

I never know when to use para yo and when to use para mí! T.T;;;
Accents pwn me. T.T;;; I always write Digalo. XD; This is why yo escribo mis escrituras en MS Word. ^^;;; With the language set to Spanish (Spain-Modern Sort). biggrin

XD Why is that a burn? It'd be more of a burn to use eres instead of estás, wouldn't it? Since that'd imply that you're actually crazy, rather than crazy in love?

I like learning foreign languages, but I HATED Spanish. Always have. 'tis okay I guess, but it's SOO not my favorite langauge. There's nothing wrong with it, but it cant' hold a candle to Japanese. Or German. Or Russian. I loved my Spanish class in college, though, cuz it was open book. Was my easiest class= ergo t'was my fav. XD

I had 3 years of German in highschool, and one of Russian. I lurved 'em both, and I wanna learn da Japanese. I'd lurve to move to Japan someday.
