Since Vel is functioning well as a primary but I don't want to overuse teachers at the moment...


Your Gaia Name: Lord Andarel

Character's name: Simon Rael

Status: Student

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Race: Human primarily,though his paternal grandmother was Sylph (Air Elemental). So...3/4 Human 1/4 Sylph then.

Appearance: Simon is a small part Sylph, and it hints at his general appearance. Arabic-looking with the beginnings of facial hair kept under tight control, he has a slightly wavy mop of black hair that spreads back, which he has rarely cut - by now it is nearly two feet long. His eyes are the pale blue-grey that his race tends to have, and his face thin and sleeked-back. His teeth are faintly pointed, as with his ears - his entire form is tall, sleeked-back and light.

Clothing: Simon often wears a thin, flowing robe that allows ease of movement, under a equally thin and far less baggy set of cloth pants and a tied shirt. He wears long moccasins, tied up to his knees, and sometimes a thin grey scarf to keep the sun out of his eyes.

Height: 6'1"

Strengths: Simon is strong and smooth in general - in fighting and talking both, but will often overextend and have to regain his positions. He is light and has a basic knowledge of Wind magic through his blood, but it is mostly used instinctively and is not particularly strong due to the weak lineage. His weapons are heavy to counteract his light weight, and he can move quickly as well as on most surfaces.

Weaknesses: He is light and has sturdy but thin bones due to his ancestry - his defenses, while they may protect his body, give him trouble keeping his footing. He likes moving, and as such has a tendency to move too far or take to the air too soon, though his mind is sharp. His weapons are difficult to control, and while strong require precise timing. His personality can be a problem, as he rarely takes anything seriously and can be easily baited.

Weapon: Simon has a small arsenal of blades, but only brought 5 to the House of Bricks - a pair of shortswords, a pair of heavier sabers and a medium-sized double-edged broadsword. These are usually kept behind his waist and across his back-respectively, and are used for different purposes. The two sabers are preferred over the broadsword, but at the moment he is better with the latter.

Personality: Simon is practically incapable of taking most things seriously, and is prone to causing trouble. While not cruel per se, he can be callous at times and hates to be restrained or follow the rules. Reckless and hasty, he will do what he chooses, when he chooses. He has grown fond of the sky and the water - any open areas are appealing to him. He is a sharp trader and will always be trying to find a way to make money if time allows, though it is less important now that he has left his family.

Bio: Born to a family of traders, he and the entire Rael have long been exiled wanderers, moving from place to place in the desert and wastelands and making money off of trinkets sold. As the family has collected several heirlooms of respectable value over their years, Rael left the traders with the goal of forming a bond with at least some of the future generation. He sold older valuables to pay for tuition. Little is told about his earlier history, as the entire line keeps no records and does not share the past. However, at the age of twelve he began learning the use of swords, and has now become respectably proficient in it. Additionally, the blood of the Sylph ancestry in his family is unusually prominent in him, something key in traveling the usually hostile deserts - as such, he was a perfect candidate to chart new grounds for the line.

Blood Magic:
Simon has the ability to see through most lesser (weak) veils and invisibility magics.
Simon can, with effort, move on most roughly-flat surfaces. He cannot stand on the air as a true Sylph could easily, but he can use the air in, say, water to make a foothold that will last four or five seconds under his weight.
Simon is extremely sensitive to changes in the motion of air around him, this is beginning to develop into a form of sensed intuition.

Blood Traits:
Sustenance/Substance - Simon dislikes cramped spaces, and prefers unroofed, open areas. He requires unusually small amounts of food and water.

Just wondering, how does looking Arabic flag someone as an air elemental? Not major enough to worry much about, but I don't see how being half a creature based on air would look arabic from the elementals side.

Just a question, Is he like a half-Dijin? (Genie, lol)

A lot of the original myths referring to the air elementals (Sylph, but also, as you mentioned, Djinni) come from the deserts, in which air currents can do some very strange things with sand and motion. The "arabic" people are also similar to his family race - they were often originally wanderers in the desert, so he would have similar skin tone (from the sun) and some basic similarity in features.

The Djinni were what the Arabs thought of as elementals, so...he's a bit close.

Also, he's not exactly "an air elemental," he's the descendant of one - think with the Greek gods, how they would intermingle with humans, and the bloodlines would slowly keep the traits - he would be the second generation down, though his grandmother was hardly a god.

Weapons: Simon carries a miniature arsenal with him - a heavy longsword, four curved sabers - two are a new pair he just received in day 6 from the Family.

Notable Character Info: Simon is an envoy from the Rael merchant clan to Konalter, and will be loosely in contact with them over the RP.
