Here's the deal. I asked a lot of people to play this game, and to my surprise, all but one said yes. I didn't expect to have this many players on my hands.
However, the issue is not that I don't think I can handle 8 players. I don't think that would be a problem. The issue is that I don't want to deal with players who only sort of want to play the game. Some of you seem more enthusiastic than others, and I don't think it's fair to the people who are really excited about the game if we have to worry about anyone not giving it the attention needed.
If you're excited about playing and your thoughts are along the lines of, "This is going to be awesome," "I can't wait to start playing," etc., by all means stay! That's the kind of player I need.
If you're just kind of, "Sure why not, it might be fun," "I've got nothing better to do," then please think hard about whether or not you really want to play, and whether or not you'll really be able to put in the time and effort. What I DON'T need is noncommitted players dragging it down for the rest.
There'll be no hard feelings if you drop out now, honest. I understand that not everyone gets excited about games like this. You'd be welcome to stay in the guild and watch and chat, but I think it'll be best if I can give all my attention to the players who are dedicated. And I'll keep you in mind for future games if you want.
If no one ends up dropping out, that's fine too. But then I want to see you ALL in here and posting regularly, taking part in chat, taking some initiative in getting your characters finished (those of you who aren't done yet).

Your characters are finished, and now is the time to take them for a test drive. You will each have your own thread in Barton Town to run your characters through some practice scenarios, and then you will have one last chance to change your character's stats. After that, you'll be filling in the details of your character (describing their contacts, havens, etc.) and we'll begin.
I have drawn a preliminary map of the city and will be posting it once I've colored it and added some important landmarks and buildings.
I'll also want a sketch of the layout of your character's haven and the surrounding area, whether it's an apartment, a mansion, or a hole in the sewers.
