StarFalcon Shikonneko My best friend/ex moved to Boston (about a 24 hour drive from here), and I let him take the cat with him... I'm so alone... *sob* If I may ask, why did you let him take your cat when you need her? In my infinant kindness (at a cost to myself, apparently) I decided that he would need the companion more in moving to a foreign, potentially uncaring environment than I would in my comfortable-if-slightly-erratic one. Also, one of my s**t-for-roommates turned out to be alergic to cats, and *would not* let me keep her, no matter what. I figured it would be more humane to send her to Boston than leave her to fate here... Albeit I'm a touch resentful now.

Well, you should be happy that you did something good for your cat to be in a better place, rather than to let her stay in a hostile environment with your roommate. You could arrange to see your cat again some day. Call your friend at times to see how your cat is doing. 3nodding

She's been acting very attention-starved apparently, but otherwise she's okay. They're both coming home for Christmas, so that'll be fun too. But she also stares at my picture (he has a little framed photo set on his desk); I wonder if cats can miss their mommies.

But she also stares at my picture (he has a little framed photo set on his desk); I wonder if cats can miss their mommies. They can! When I moved out of my house and into my dorm, no one at home could handle my cat. He just... he was attention starved and whiney. But then I came home and he was so upset at me for leaving he would have nothing to do with me. Now he's attention starved all over again. I hope it doesn't break his heart too badly when I go back... I feel so guilty, but I can't have him in the dorm and the stupid school won't let me live off campus! gonk

What were the odds that you're roomate would be allergic to cats gonk I've determined that the guy's a jerk; he knew I had Nyx, and should have said something BEFORE HAND, not been all "The cat has to go, I won't let her stay." But I'm not going to think about that. I just wish he'd come down from the attic and do something other than steal food or play FFXI all day. *tear*Arashi Tenshi They can! When I moved out of my house and into my dorm, no one at home could handle my cat. He just... he was attention starved and whiney. I know what you mean; My other cat was kinda like that, but instead started following around my mom. That's why I was so happy about Nyx, I actually had her from kittenhood (she used to pee on my toes. xd ) as opposed to Sierra who we adopted when she was a few years old. It makes a difference, and it's a little easier to see that way. But hey, no off-campus love for you? Haven't lived there long enough, or don't meet the credit requirement?

A bit of both. I've only been there one year and don't become a senior until the end of this year. -_- My cat started following my parents around. My step-dad is supposedly allergic, but he still loves my cat, even if he won't admit it. We've had my cat since he was a tiny little thing! ^^
