by giving me good advice. x3
Right then. So I'm going to be in highschool next year. YES. I will be a freshman. PLEASE PLEAAASSEEE lets get over the 'omg really ur so yung' thing now, okay?
Times up you're over it.
I have to choose a school for next year. My choices: my local public highschool a private Lutheran school about an hour out of the way a private Christian school also and hour out of the way
This is your time to get over that I'm Christian. :/ Pretty sure it shouldn't offend you guys because you're pretty mature like that, But you never know, right?
Here are the ADVANTAGES of these schools: public highschool: most of my friends will go there, it is ten minutes away, no uniform, I could drive myself there, marching band, my older brother will be there for my freshman year Lutheran school: huge educational opportunities, even if I take onlevel they can basically assure me I WILL get into the college of my choice, award winning small concert band with a percussion section, a chance to start over, a chance to remove my enemies from my enviorment, a chance for new friends, a chance to not make any NEW enemies, small class sizes, small graduation class, I'll get to learn about God and stuff which, thought it might sound stupid to you, seems reassuring, to me... nice campus, smart teachers, no uniform, dosn't shove religion down your throat, intelligent students that will be great conversation, lots of school events, great art program Christian school: I went there when I was younger, good education opportunities, advance, elite, very nice campus, religion, somewhat of an orchestra program, somewhat of an art program
Here are the DISADVANTAGES of these schools: public highschool: bad education, super hard band tryout music, crappy orchestra teacher, intense marching band, lazy teachers, stupid kids, my enemies will be there, asbestos in the air and walls, band room and such are under construction, my xstep sister will be there, lots of preggos and druggies, HUGE graduation class, HUGE class sizes Lutheran school: I will miss my friends every second of every day, tough classes, people might hate me, weird dress code that makes it impossible to wear most of MY clothes, chapel, intense people in the front office, lots of pictures of a bleeding Jesus [[;^;]], CROSSES everywhere, far away, I'd get home really late, lots of homework so I hear Christian school: uniforms, it was gay when I went there when I was younger, all the kids that go there are rich and THEY ******** SUCK, cramming on the religion, a lot expected of me, I'll miss my friends WAY more, too much homework, strict teachers, far away, getting home late in the day
So there's your facts, now please, please help me. D:
This is one of the hardest decisions I've had to make.

Judging from the information you have given, I'd probably lean towards the Christian school, although the Lutheran seems like a good second choice.
Basically, my thoughts are this:
Even if the Christian school doesn't teach as much religion as the Lutheran one (which I'm guessing based on the information presented), that's what church is for. The main reason I'd go with the Christian school is the education. I go to a public school right now which has an excellent educational program, so I guess I'm lucky. But if the school doesn't offer good education (such as the public one), then you shouldn't go to it. The point of school isn't to be around all of your friends and join every club you can, it's to prepare yourself for a future.
From what my brother told me, most of your highschool friends won't stick around with you into college. Only those close friends will. And it's not like if you go to a Christian school you won't be able to invite your public school close friends over, right? Besides, although this may seem too commonly said, you WILL make new friends when you switch schools. Heck, I barely had any friends before I moved onto highschool, now I have tons (not a whole lot of close-knit friends, but still). You just have to be really kind and Christian (IMO, being like this, despite what school you're in is great), then you'll make plenty of friends.
Also, another reason I would say the Christian over the Lutheran is that while the education level at the Lutheran and Christian school seems equal, if you get home late AND have tons of homework, then you'll end up not getting a wink of sleep or free time. I mean, I know you said you get home late with both schools, but from your description, I'm guessing you get home earlier at the Christian school?
As for saying that all the kids there are rich and suck, you should really avoid stereotyping. I mean, you haven't been in awhile, so many of them might have matured. As well, the friends who you do find there (even if it's few) will probably have the same point of view about the school as you and have similar views as you, making all of you closer friends.
I mean, if I had an opportunity to move to a different school and get better educational benefits (the one I'm at is more than enough right now luckily), then I would definitely do it, even if it meant saying goodbye to a lot of my friends. It's not like they're dead, the close ones and the worthwhile ones will still remain in contact.
Just to reinforce what I said before, GOOD EDUCATION IS A MUST. Even if they challenge you, it's okay because that's better for your future. You'll be able to get into college easier, you'll be more prepared and whenever you get a job/career later in life, it will be a piece of cake. Up until last year I didn't try as hard as I could in school, but now I've started giving it my all because I realize this. Working hard early on will give you a much easier road to follow on later in life, ask any adult (They say this a lot, they're not lying to you).
Sorry for posting so much, I'm sort of passionate about this kind of thing!

Its fine; its nice to know its not just a one-way street, here. C:
Well, I actually DO know a lot about the kids. My brother also went there, and he was in fifth moving into 6th. Getting pushed down the stairs and into the girl's bathroom aside, My brother was having a miserable time. Adding those things, well, it was terrible. The kids were just so mean. D: They never got PUNISHED like me and my brother do. I rode the bus with the older kids, too. One of them actually STEPPED on my lunch on PURPOSE then laughed. I was in the second grade and I cried so hard that they sent me home. o_____o; I think he was a senior.
between riding the bus and hearing the horror stories from my brother, yeah, I know those kids prettyyy well.
The Christan school is as far away as the Lutheran school, actually. But its not close to my family. One of the things I didn't list about the Lutheran school was that it is about twenty minutes away from my aunts and my grandparents, Not to mention my horse. >______>; so I would be able to get to riding faster and more often, And if I needed to, I could spend the night at my aunt's. Her daughter went off to college and her daughter's twin is sort of shying away from her because she didn't want to go with him to his radiation treatments... So since I'm her Goddaughter, shes been sort of taking me on. Replacing her kids with me for the time being. o____o; The reason I didn't list that was because some of the people reading this would know what school I was looking at, And saying the name of it could tell anyone stalking me my general location, so it just seems smart to hide it in all this tl;dr text.
I do love the educational opportunities, there. Boring classes always teach you the most... But the Lutheran school is supposed to be on the same level, And they offer Honors, Pre-AP, High Average, and onlevel, Whereas the Christian school seems to only offer Special Ed and Honors//advanced. I think I'm actually leaning towards the Lutheran school right about now. o_____o; feels like I'm debating the advice I asked for! But I'm not, really. I very much appreciate it. I honestly didn't think anyone would care. C:

Oh my, that sounds like a really hard choice. But I think you seem to already have this solved, I hate it when things try to shove religion down your throat too. We are all entitled to our own beliefs and stuff you know ^^ Also if I were you, I'd pick the Lutheran school, simply because like you said you get a great education and they don't seem to shove religion down your throat like you said ^^
I'm sure by now my words don't mean much, but I did try, sowwy I didn't get to this sooner... crying

oh don't be silly. x3 You got here just in time!
Yeah, I'm sort of leaning towards the Lutheran school... Laeluu suggested that I could possibly transfer out after a year if it wasn't going well, And my mom agreed that would work out, so yeah! C: But you never know; someone could have a great argument for one of the other schools...

I actually agree with the other 2, you should choose the Lutheran school....I had no choice in the high school I went to, but the public school I went to had great education for a small town
