i had to read the first book for a children's lit class i was taking this term and so i got really into all the other books from there. i remembered reading some of this book from when i was really young but not much had stuck with me. its funny that i should be so into them now.

My late grandmother(her name happened to be Anne) got me a box set that contained all 8 books for my birthday one year. I was really close to her and we loved discussing the series with each other. The books have a high sentimental value to me because of this.

I've only read Anne of Green Gables (many years ago) and read bits and pieces of Anne of Avonlea. I remember enjoying it a lot and I'm really wanting to pick up more books and read. Summer is coming up soon, so hopefully I will be able to pick them all up! biggrin

I started reading this series this year, and I got up to Anne of Ingleside. From there, I need to search for the rest, I guess. These are my fave books! I love the first one, because her and Gilbert are all not happy with each other and then BAM! lol yeah, you get what I'm saying right?

i have the whole set but i want to go and get the 100th year special edition book. i saw it at the book store but i need to make some money before i go and get it. its so pretty though because it has a cover that is almost identical to the very first edition cover.

It was such a shame when Matthew died. You dont see many brothers and sisters living together anymore like Marilla and Matthew did.

I've never heard of any brothers and sisters living together like Marilla and Matthew did, even back then. I've heard of sisters living together, and brothers living together, but never brothers and sisters like Matthew and Marilla. I know it happened, but still.
Pretty cool concept

i love that Marilla and Matthew had each other all the time and that they both had different ideas when Anne came. she was the renewal of life at Green Gables and i think Matthew knew it right from the start and Marilla had to learn it and that is why Matthew had to leave her, because she knew she would be alright with Anne around. if Matthew had died before Marilla had Anne what would have happen to that poor lady?
