I really want to read this since it focuses on Anne's daughter and apparently, this book is what the third movie is based on, so I'm dying to read it!

Any comments on it?

I find it's not really like the other books. Sort of a class of its own. Actually made me cry, unlike the others (except in the first one, when Matthew dies. I can't stand reading that part).
A few of the lines really jump out at you, especially if you've read "Rainbow Valley".

I think that's what I'm looking for, something different. Your little critique makes me want to read it more!

I really liked Rilla and this book. I didn't want to like it, because I didn't like how the focus was away from Anne...but I remember really liking the story and thought the love she had was really sweet. I did choke up quite a few times reading it.

I finished Rilla today and can i say i loved it. it is such a great book. ties so much together and yet it could be a standalone book. it was heartbreaking and uplifiting and funny and sad all at the same time. i loved Rilla's character she has Anne's temper and she has Gilbert's determination and ability to think about what she is doing although she does slip sometimes and that tends to land her in trouble. I loved the Roll Anne and Gilbert play in this book and i love how much of Rilla's point of view you get through her diary. its like all the writing styles that Montgomery used through out the set come together in some way in this one.

the movies aren't all very much like the books. Rilla of Ingleside in the movies is actually Anne of green gables the continueing story.

I'm very happy at the moment. I finally found a copy of Rilla! The last time I read it, it was at my aunt's. I'm rereading it now. blaugh
