Its sad that Merilla is passed on, and the other guy in the movie, can't remember the name..., not sure how hers is spelled. They were good actors/actress

Quite a big fan of the first movie, and I am super glad that Megan Follows played Anne. I think that a Canadian needed to play her. Schuyler Fisk I think would have been a decent Anne, but Megan Follows was the best and that Schuyler was a great Diana.
I LOVE Anne's first encounter with Rachel Lynde. "How dare you call me skinny, and CARROTS!? You're rude, impolite, unfeeling woman and I hate you! How would you like to have nasty things said about you? How would you like to be told your fat, ugly, and a sour old gossip!"

I had such a big kid crush on Megan Follows. I thought she was super beautiful and would have given away all my Barbies to look like her. Ha. I thought she played an excellent Anne.
My Gramma had this series on VHS and I watched it so many times...excellent casting, costumes, everything. It's awesome!

I've been rewatching my Anne movies before I go to sleep. I'm on the second movie of Anne of Avonlea, and have gotten to the part where the school is having a picnic with Mrs. Harris at Maplehurst. I have the Continuing Story, but I won't watch it because of the war scenes. Hopefully this summer I can bring myself to watch it again without too much trouble. (My soldier was killed in Afghanistan August 22, 2007, and I haven't been able to watch the third Anne since)
It is so nice to be able to watch/listen to Anne again. =]

I'm able to watch some war movies, but it just makes it difficult because I wonder if his last moments were calm or stresssful or if he was scared. It's just a terrible thought. =[

Tony was only ten days away from ending his tour and we had gotten e-mail from him about how much he hated it there. we knew that things were not good for him and he was killed in a firefight. i still cry about it all the time and the really sad thing is i am so angry about it. i get mad at my friends if they even say they are thinking of joining any branch of the military and i get really bitter if people want to talk about war or go and see movies about war. but i try to remind myself that the people that are there need our support and even if i don't support the war i support the troops. i have yellow ribbons in my car and they go every where with me so that i am always reminded.

My Nick was killed on Aug. 26th, but he was supposed to be home for the anniversary September 16th, all he had was two weeks to go until he was hone for a two week R&R. It was a lucky shot, he was hit in the upper thigh/groin area, right between where his beg bullet proof vests started, and where his chest and torso BPV ended. He kept fighting until he collapsed from blood loss. Nick never said he hated it there, he had been in the Guard for so long, he felt it was his duty, and wanted to follow in his fathers footsteps. I don't get angry at my friends for thinking about/joining the military, because they know the risk, and if they are brave enough to risk their lives, then they're an amazing person and someone I would want fighting for me. I'm honored that they're willing to fight for freedom. That doesn't mean it doesn't bother me, because it does, but I let them do what they feel is right.

I'm honored that they're willing to fight for freedom. That doesn't mean it doesn't bother me, because it does, but I let them do what they feel is right. i have noticed, mainly through media, that there is such a much greater sense of patriotism in US as opposed to canada. i think thatt is why i am so bitter. Canada is so much more pacifist and its just been so long since we really had any part in a major war. canada wasn't involved in vietnam or the korean wars at the same capacity as the states and so i think that is why it is so hard for me to wrap my mind around it being duty. but then again i have always had a very negative and pacifist view of war. i don't think it was ever nessisary in any sense and i don't agree with it at all. then when tony died it was like being hit in the face with this concept and it made me even more angry and bitter about the violence. but i guess its different in the states.
