We all know the scene at the end where the two of them walk back into the lifestream together is so Zeris, but I thought these lines kind of hint at it too.



Aeris' first line seems pretty sutle to anything. She's just making fun of Cloud for his mistake.

Then Zack says, "fond of you." Don't you think Cloud would be furious at this downplay of his emotions and undying love? Or what about Aeris? She replies with, "This one's a little too big to adopt."

Odd, considering this is the love of her life right here apparently. Why continue acting like that? It may be a joke, but it seems like a really odd one to make about someone you are apparently in love with. The line also kind of sounds like she's hinting that her and Zack are together, like Zack is saying, "Aww, but he likes you." and she's saying, "No Zack, we can't have a puppy child." XP

It would tie along nicely with the theme that Tifa and Cloud are a couple with adpoted children.

Then Zack comments on how Cloud doesn't have a place here. We know this means in death in the lifestream, but could it possibly mean more? Aeris sure sounds like she's saying that Cloud can't be apart of her family, maybe hinting that he should be with his own?

I also like how he says "tough luck". It's like, "Aeris is the boss and I have no say, so don't get angry at me." Sounds like what a husband says to his kid when the kid asks mom for permission and she says no, and then the kid looks at the father and he just shrugs, "Sorry, mom's boss, I'm not arguing with her. I know better." XP

I always had a small feeling that the whole "too big to adopt" line was hinting at Zeris. Hahaha Cloud's their puppy child. XD

The funny part about the mother debate is that Aeris looks down at Tifa and Cloud like a mother, and even more than one character in AC gets this feeling. She did, after all, save them all and therefore give them life like a mother does.

Tifa just looks at her little family and gets motherly feelings. Having these type of motherly feelings for your husband isn't uncommon (thus me, anyone in a long term relationship will tell you the same). I mean, she looks at him and thinks he's acting like a big kid. Any girl, especially one who's dating a gamer guy or something, is lying if she hasn't had that idea cross her mind before. XP

That's all that really needs to be said. They are both mothers to different people in different ways.

AC really does show that once Aeris and Zack meet in the lifestream and she comes out of her denial about his death that they'd pick up right where they left off.
