Victorian Beauty is truely captured by portraits. If you seen a painting that deals with victorian art most will agree that it has beauty.

Here are a few examples of amazingly drawn art. They are not from me, but it's still a really good example.

I wish we still dressed like that.

I went to a art museum yesterday and they had some amazing Victorian pictures. It's funny how much of a difference there was between the way we look and the way they looked.

Well, he sure is a handsome one, isn't he? (this coming from a lady who has never found any man to be attractive other than Asian men 4laugh )... guess it's the long hair and aristocratic feel to him....
Nice find!

I too wish people dressed that way today.. or at least had as (or similar) beliefs in the strict social rules... (except that "in the presence of a lady, a man should not refrain from using larger words, so she may feel that he thinks her capable of understanding" and "Even if a lady is highly educated, she is to refrain from correcting a man and/or speaking of matters in which she may be seen as intelligent. That is not to say that she cannot know, contrary, she should be very knowledgeable, but allow the man to feel as though he is teaching her something."....... =<__
I'm working on a thread in my guild on Victorian etiquette... I'm just compiling all the information from websites (which I have links to on the first post) and my collection of Victorian books... I've still got a LOT of info to put up.... gonk

Agreed. I was tortured into watching Wife Swap last night (for those who don't know what this is, it's basicly they take 2 families that are complete opposites and the wifes go live with the other family for 2 weeks. The first week they live by the families' rules and the second, by their rules.)... It was a nice proper family with good morals and a family of lazy slobs that their son's girlfriend lived with them as did their daughters' boyfriend (and let them sleep in the same room!) The mother was the only one that worked (I think) and all of the "children" (the daughter was 16 and the son 25) just sat around all day playing video games and the girls constantly asking the mother for money for manicures and whatnot... The proper family lived on a farm that everyone helped with... and the children knew what was expected of them and did it, no questions (as a child should)....

The lady from the slob family made the boys go out on dates even though they didn't want to (they didn't even know the girls that well) and her argument to the father was that "you've gotta try it before you buy it."... that is the part that I really didn't like (when she said 'try it' she was talking about them sleeping together, by the way)

sweatdrop sorry, that was a bit long wasn't it? ...basicly, I don't like how most people these days think that way.. sweatdrop

I'll just shut up now.. redface Please just ignore my ramblings! redface

Try it before you buy it! Wow...they just met those girls! I would tell that 25 year old to get a job so he could pay rent at my house or he can move out. I think it's okay to give your children some money but all the time that's rediculous. Letting the childrens boyfriend or girlfriend live with them that's really strange. They should have to pay rent.

It's only going to get worse too! scream
