Good for the lulz.
But seriously, what did you think? I thought it was epic fail. Touhou Soccer 2 had better graphics and there were two seconds of movement in the whole thing. Maikaize's previews even look better. But I must applaud Sound Holic for their effort. It made me like Reisen a little better in any case. And Nana Takahashi's vocals in 'Go on Being' are really nice. To bad I can't find the song anywhere. And what the hell, did Kana Ueda have nothing better to do then lend her voice to a second-rate animation that was Sound Holic's side story? I feel to critical. It's much better than anything I could ever do. ._.
Does anybody know where I can find the album with the op song on it?

im guessing you found it with subtitles somewhere? i dunno, i tryed watching it on youtube in plain japanese and i just couldnt do it. even if i understood it im sure i woulda hated it more. it was a nice try but im not really into the whole idea of a touhou anime or ova. its a game series, lets keep it that way. we dont want to anger the fans with sub-par animation. not to mention imo there isnt enough character development for an anime, particurally a fanmade one. lets wait for some more manga's before we risk butchering the series, going from shump to manga to anime is ezier then shump to anime. regardless, i will watch the maikaze one when its finished so i can inspect the damage.

I still find it unfortunate that they spent so much time and effort making an April Fool's "joke". Interestingly though, there have been some good games that started out as pranks like this, so there is still a chance...
...Anyway, back on topic. While Side Story is subpar, it's still a full 50 minutes of animation. Given that they had really no budget to speak of, this is an amazing work.
I'm finding that the English speaking fans are far too critical of fan works, while the Japanese fans embrace and cheer on every single one regardless of how flawed or horribly done it is. It's quite fascinating that there's such a huge difference in unity and appreciation.

Well, they did make a fighting game of touhou, so why not an rpg? (Would help a lot more if it would get in english)

they did make a RPG. though like you said its not in english. it still looks good though. im more into something like a fire emblem type game with touhou characters. but i guess i can only dream.

Though like I said, it's still too bad it isn't in english. sad (Although I couldn't see why they couldn't make a patch in english.)

not the video i posted. Defiant of Shrine Maiden can really be downloaded. but its alot less enjoyable if you cant understand whats being said, also the file size is a monster. as for that parody video. some people are going to great lenghs to prove that its too elaborate to be JUST a prank. i dont think it would be made into a actuall game though, at least not anytime soon. what i want to see (more then an anime) is a fire emblem style touhou game.
