Hey, I'm sorry I haven't been on in the past few days. I just got back from the most awesome trip ever. I went to Seattle for a PNW Key Club District Convention. It was so awesome. I met a lot of great people. It was really nice, because a lot of Key Clubs sent over 50 people to DCON, but my club sent 4 people, so it was a lot more close and personal sort of thing. The four of us were roomates at the hotel and spent most of our time together.

We left our town Thursday, stayed in Anchorage for two hours lay over, then flew to Seattle. I love flying by the way. Anyway, we got to our hotel at 2:00 in the morning and, as you could guess, we crased. Almost literally.

The next morning, or later that day, I guess you could say, we ate breakfast at Denny's. This was our last meal for a long time. We had a lot of time that day, because we didn't officially check in to Convention until 2:00 (In the afternoon this time), So we went to the mall.

In my town, actually in my whole state, there is practically no shopping, so when we're able to go to a big city, we take advantage. By the time we got back to the hotel, it was time to check in. This isn't really exciting at all. We got our name tags and meal tickets, and our booklets with the proceedings in them.

From there, we met a bunch of other key club members from various places in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.

It was soon time for the first general meeting. So we went into the grand ballroom with about 1400 Key Clubbers. It was chaos! There were people screaming and singing along to the music that was blasted onver the speakers. They were wearing flashy crowns and waving pom poms and throwing things.

Finally the governor of PNW came out and calmed everyone down, and began the meeting. They did a bunch of boring introductions and then Tina, the governer, introduced a man named Scott Greenberg. We sort of clapped for him, then as he began talking, everyone was listening. He is the best motivational speacker I have ever heard. He puts comedy and his real life experience into his work, and it's just amazing. I strongly recommend listening to him if you ever get the chance.

After that meeting, we had about twenty minutes before we had to get to caucuses, and by this time, we were starving. It was about 5:00 and none of us had lunch. We were sitting with our advisors trying to figure out what to do about food.

One of our clubbers got sick, like bad, throwing up, because we hadn't eaten all day. We were with her in our hotel room, when our advisor came up, telling us to hurry down to the caucuses because they were manditory. The roomate who was sick obviously wasn't going to go, and another one of my roomies stayed with her to take care of her. My third roomate and I had to run fast down 7 fights of stairs (the elevators were too crowded) to get to our caucuses on time. That didn't work.

We got to the room and they locked us out. We were late, and we had to sit outside until they were done talking in there, and we could listen to the rest of the speakers. It was rediculous. But the caucus was kool, all the people running for office were really nice and funny when we asked them questions.

By the time the caucus was over, my roomate and I were starving. We went up to the room, on elevators this time, thankfully, and our food we ordered had been there. So, that day, we had breakfast, and an 11:00 dinner.

The next morning we had breakfast and went to seminars. The first one I went to was informing us about CKI, which is the next step after Key Club, in college. It was kool, and we learned about it, how to start a club if our college didn't have one, that sort of stuff. The next one was a continuation of Scott Greenberg's presentation. Awesomely funny and kool. Then I went to this boring astronomy thing.

After that, we were to get ready for the governer's banquet, which was a huge fancy dinner. All the girls in my division were getting ready together in our room. It was fun putting on all our make up and stuff. The dinner was pretty good.

We had our second general meeting after that, which was supposed to last until 8:30. It ended at 9:15, so they extended our curfew, and the length of the governor's dance. That was AWESOME!!!!

Before the dance there were 1400 of us waiting outside the ballroom doors causing more chaos. We were doing silly chants and things that are traditions in Key Club, and popping up balloons in the air, yelling, singing, carrying people across the mob, that sort of thing. Crazy.

Finally they opened the doors and everyone screamed. We ran into the ballroom and partied hard. I had a really good time with a certain person that you can ask me about later.

I have more to write, but I'll do that tomorrow...

OMG I'm sorry this is really long. I spaced it out a bit so it's easier to read, though. I'll finish up my adventure later.

Okay, well, Okay... Wherwas I? The dance, right. So, in the middle of the dance, we were having a blast, and the DJ all of a sudden turned off the music and started saying he needed someone from the hotel to come to the stage. Everone was pretty chill until the DJ said "We may need someone to call paramedics."

It all went to chaos. People were freaking out, yelling, pushing, it was crazy and no one knew what happened. Me and... my friend... kinda got pushed out of the ballroom and into the hotel lobby where we were pressed up against the wall.

Apperently a girl had an asthma attack, or a siezure, or she fainted, or all of the above. In any case, the DJ was yelling for an inhaler and they finally took the girl out and into an ambulance. We all walked into the ballroom again ready to get our party back on, when a Key Club advisor took the mic from the DJ and said "The dance is only open to seniors since it's getting so late." (The seniors get special dance time since it's their last DCON).

So we all left, I said bye to my friend, and we went back to the hotel room. Except for one of our senior friends, we were all in there. Then she came back about 20 minutes later, from the senior dance that was supposed to last an hour. She told us the dance was cancelled, because the DJ went home. That was pretty much sucky, because the senior dance is supposed to be a special thing for those who won't come to District Convention next year. We all went to bed pretty dissappointed.

The next morning, we got ready to leave. We didn't leave before a last shopping trip, though! Yeah, but that was not totally exciting since we hit that same mall on Friday. But, we went to the Rainforest Cafe (to shop, not eat. too expensive) and some other stores we missed, then we had to get on the shuttle to go back to the hotel to get our bags, then head to the airport.

We got a full meal in the Seattle Airport! Okay, not really, I had french fries from Wendy's and a piece of pizza, but it was the most food I had in days! We were all satisfied and ready to get on the plane. Our seats weren't all screwed up, and we had a pleasant ride home.

THE END!!!

Okay, are you sick of me now, sorry, but it's kool I was able to remember all this. I bet I forgot a bunch of stuff, lucky for you! Holy Cow, the rest of the story's almost as long as the original post! lol, okay, well, ttyl. Join Key Club!

Oh, I don't know a lot about Key Club history, but I believe it used to be an all-male group. But now it isn't and it's the biggest high school organization in the world! Oh yeah!
