((The teaser for incoming rp-er benefit: The storyline is that Jarren has brought some companions(from wherever or whenever they may be) To his homeworld where he proceeds to ask their assisstance in finding his parents. Unknown to him is that his father is helping an unknown evil in breeding a mysterious creature called the Night King. This creature requires a human host(unknown to Jarren's father) and is confined in a strange golden gauntlet that Jarren's father wears on his right hand(according to rumor picked up in Jarren's travels.) The story will ultimately end with Jarren and company facing off with either the Night King or this mysterious evil.
To cover my tracks before I start: While Jarren believes that his In-Between is an entirely different world. They later find out that it is more of a parrallel dimmension that takes up one of the current world's continents))
Jarren stood next to the ring of stone that was the gateway between the world he was currently in and his own In-Between. He hoped coming out in a labyrinth wouldn't throw off the companions he had gathered. He also hoped that they would be able to help him find his parents. The Labyrinthine floors of the Grand Ruins would be a great task and some may not wish to spend the time in another world searching for some one else's parents in a pancake stack of mazes. He sighed and stared at his feet for awhile. When he looked up he saw the first of his allies coming toward him.

Adela looked around. "This place is so familiar...I can't put my finger on it though." she said, not directly aimed at anyone.

"It's nice to see you too." Lash said sarcastically, who had just caught up with her at a brisk pace. "I heard someone needed help and my life is rather dull at the moment." He said to Jerren. "So what is this thing?" Lash asked looking at the ring of stone. "I don't think I'm going to like this place."

Braxxsus let out a barking laugh as he heard Lash's comment. "Haven't you heard what Jarren has told us?" Without waiting for a reply, he continued. "He is taking us to another world." His head turned to face Jarren. "Isn't that right? We're going somewhere else, and those," he said, pointing to the ring of stones, "is how we are going to get there. Off, to another world, to help find someone's beloved family." The last line sounded like a novelty phrase in his ears. He was going to another world! And, someone's family was at stake. Someone who it sounded like his parents actually cared for him. Ever since Braxxsus's own 'curse' was discovered, he was shunned. Braxxsus shook his head, bringing his mind back to the present, and to the task at hand.

"Magic, I'm completely fine without it." Lash said adjusting his knife belt. On it were five visible knives and by the looks of it there could be a few more. "I had these custom made, it took forever to finally get it perfect." Lash picked a random one from the belt and threw it at a tree, it stuck and when Lash went to retrieve it he showed that he had also hit a fly with it. "Like I said, it took forever to get them perfect." Lash wiped the knife on a leaf he picked from the tree and returned it to his belt. "Know it's arrows and knives you need to fear."

There was the slight sound of the clanging of armor against armor, which the party heard a bit earlier then they saw the source. The man who came around the bend was dressed in heavy metal armor, and a huge sword was strapped to his back. Long black hair flowed down his back, and his blue eyes regarded the rest of the party in amusement. "Why can't you guys just wait for me?" Mase asked, drawing his huge sword and leaning on it. "You know I can't keep up with all this armor hindering my movement."

"You'll need the armor when we enter the grand ruins in my home," Jarren said to Mase, "Thank you all for coming to my aid. Now I will summon our guide through dimmensions."
Jarren closed his eyes and a pale red fiery aura began to surround him, "Dark houd and flickering fire, sword of shadow and sting of venom, come forth from the gateways of gehenna, come to my side, GOUGE!!!" with the last word's Jarren's eyes snapped open. At his side was a pitch black wolf that stood waist high. In the center of it's forehead was a black horn as long and sharp as a shortsword blade. from the creatures shoulders sprung wings of orange and red flame and his tail was that of a scorpion twice as long as it's body and twice as deadly.
"Gouge please activate the portal," Gouge nodded and walked over to the stone ring. He spread his wings and jumped to the top of the first stone. he leaped first from stone to stone and as he landed on each one unseen runes lit up. Once each stone was lit Gouge flew in a circle passing above each stone. A light that gave off a cold glow and yet was black shone in a pillar from inside the stone ring up to the sky. The light phased to grey, then white, finally the inside of a large stone antechamber could be seen from rippling along the outside of the pillar.
Jarren peered at it scrutinizingly then said, "Alright, it is safe to proceed. Please everyone go through the portal. I must go last because gouge is holding it open."

"Don't trip and fall into a dimmension we aren't supposed to be in." Lash said to Mase. Lash then looked straight forward and walked into the portal warily, there was no telling what was on the other side.

A figure in a black cloak stepped forward out of the shadows to join the group. "...Sorry I am late." The figure said, although they hardly sounded apologetic. They did not say anything more, seemingly feeling no reason to explain further. The person did not take the hood of their cloak, though the glow of the portal showed her pale face.

Braxxsus shook his head. "You're NEVER sorry. We've just learned that you are that way." He turned and walked towards the portal, and stepped into it, no hesitancy in any of his movements as he entered.

"I guess I came knowing that there was going to be random portals that lead to anywhere." Adela sighed. She entered, showing the same lack of hesitancy as Braxxsus.

Mase laughed easily at Lash's inside joke, and his sylvan face came alive with the laughter. He shook his long black hair, and stepped inside the portal, excited to once again be on the road, and to enjoy the company of his companions.

The woman watched blandly as the others in the group went through the portal ahead of her. Then she too started forward with unnatural grace. She held her hood down over her face with one hand as she went through the portal.

Adela turned when the cloaked woman stepped through and sighed. She had always been intrigued by mysterious people. She would watch this woman closely.

Seeing that all his companions had entered the portal, Jarren nodded to Gouge who was still circling the pillars and went through himself. Once he was on the other side Gouge vanished from whence they had once been and the portal closed. Jarren turned to his friends.
"We are now in the middle floor for the Grand Ruin. From here there are two staircases. One goes up to the summit, the other goes down to the Treasury and control rooms. The gate to the upward stair is locked so we must proceed down to the gate room on the bottom floor. This middle floor is on the ground level. Each floor we descend will take us deeper underground. If you have any unknown phobia of the beasts that dwell in the deep places you'd best wait here. The Grand Ruin is built like a mirror. The middle floor would be the mirror's surface. Above the middle floor are twenty floors ascending to the summit. Hence we will have to proceed through Twenty mazelike floors simply to reach the control and unlock the gate for the upward stair. Then we'll need to ascend the twenty floors to the summit. We may be lucky enough to find my parents on our descent but I have a feeling that they're being held by some one or something on the summit of the Ruin since the upward gate wasn't closed before they went missing," Jarren looked to make sure that no one was lost in the explanation. Once he was certain he turned to look over his shoulder.
"Drake!" He yelled and a lizard about the size of a Labrador Retriever scuttled out from behind a pillar.
"Yes, Sir Jarren?" The creature asked cocking it's head to one side.
"We need to go across to port town you'll take us right?"
"The Hairy one looks a bit heavy but I think I can manage," The creature said then scuttled away out a door on the far side of the room.
"Before we go off into the dungeon I need to go across the straight into town and get some suplies. There's also some one I need to visit. I'm long overdue," His face flashed slightly crimson with the last two sentences before he could gain control over his composure.
"Any who wish to come across with me we'll be riding on Drake. He may not have looked like much but he a Reptimorphis He can change into any creature so long as it is reptilian. So Show of hands who wants to go across and have a drink etc. etc. before we start our underground frolick?
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
From high above them Unbeknownst to the newcomers an entity is watching them. Surrounded by strange magic spheres depicting a varied amount of information on unknown topics.
In a deep voice that sounds like a crypt breeze the being says to the golden-gauntleted form beside him, "It seems the young fire-spit has gone and found some friends to aid him in his search. I want you to send word to the floor guardians and Release the Jacks into the First Basement level."
"But one of the Jacks is determined to escape your grasp. If he aids Jarren then the Jacks will be all but useless, my liege," The small form said hoping to have that order retracted.
"Is that hope I sense from you?" the being asks mockingly, "No Hearts will not matter in the end, The Jack of Spades will be able to finish him with ease. When they return to the dungeon they will be met with absolute resistence."
The huddled form shuffled off to do his master's bidding and the being turned to the sphere showing Jarren and his allies.
"No, You will not find your parents. The Night King will be born, Jarren and no fire in heaven or in earth will help you to stop him."
