~Time Traveler Dad~
Tasha was making dinner, waiting for her daughter to get home. Lily had gone to a friends house to play til dinner.
Seconds later, Tasha hears the front door open and close. For sure it was Lily, not thinking it could be anyone else. A few seconds later and she heard someone walk into the kitchen, finding it kinda odd her daughter hadn't said hi. Tasha turns around ready to put their plates on the table, but Tasha stopped in her tracks instead, shocked to see who she found staring at her.
There he was, just standing there in the doorway, handsome as ever. She hadn't seen or heard from him in nearly ten years. All of the memories of that time came rushing back...she didn't know what to say or do, too stunned to do anything, afraid he was just a figment of her imagination.
"Hello, Tasha." Rick said. She almost came unglued when she heard his voice. She missed him so much. She sat down the plates, but still had no idea what to say, so she just went to him for a huge embrace, happy to feel his arms around her. To him it had only been a month, but he knew to her it had been much longer. They had so much to talk about.
Tasha finally found her voice and said, "I don't know what to say, I haven't told our daughter much about you, I was worried that she would get upset if you never came back." Now it was his turn to be speechless. What was she talking about. "What?" Rick said.
"You left in such a hurry then that I never had a chance to tell you. I just hoped with all my heart you would come back." Tasha said.
"You should have been given a communicator, I guess that is why I never heard from you. I'm sorry." Rick explained.
"I'm just glad your back. Are you done, I mean time traveling?"
Rick just smiled. "All done." Now Tasha smiled , she was so happy. She embraced him again, so happy. They were going to be a family. Then she heard the front door open and close again.
"Mom! where are you?" Lily yelled. At that moment, Tasha didn't know what she would say to her.
"I'm in the kitchen!" Tasha yelled back.
Lily walks in the kitchen and sees her mom, and then a strange man she's never seen before. Who could he be.
Trying to break the ice, Tasha asked, "How is Sam, Lily?"
"She's doing better. Her arm is healing fine. Mom, who is this?" Lily asked.
Tasha looks toward Rick and then says, "Rick Jackson." It took Lily only seconds to figure out who he was exactly, from what her mother had told her about her father, all the pestering she had done. Then you could see small tears coming from the corner of Lily's eyes, knowing she was so happy she couldn't speak, she just ran to Rick and gave him a big hug.
All of them the happiest in their life, Tasha suggests a walk at the park, so they could get to know each other, and plan for their lives together.
