(Now lets see if my journalistic skills can play here...)Those of you who have been here long enough to browse the wonderful digital world of Gaia may have pushed open the doors to The Wirter's Forum. Once you've rummaged through the monotonous question by various over-zealous writers, you'll find something know as the NaNoWriMo.
What's this? You all whisper in curiosity. As quoted from Rhapsody "NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month. It is a contest of sorts in which writers bust out 50,000 words in the month of November. The idea is "write now, edit later."
Couldn't have said it better myself, even in it's simple form. If you were to check out this post by Rhapsody you would find provided a link to the official web site, so it's something that is taken seriously. The website is user friendly and the makers themselves sound like avid writers or loves of writing, being that they are raising money to build a library. (Yay!)
If you do feel tickled by the thought of writing 50,000 (It's really nothing when you start. You'll wish you'll have more) then check out "New to NaNoWriMo?" in the middle of the website.
If you're laughing with confidence after being tickle with wondering thoughts and up for the challenge, make sure you sign up on to the website (which I will proivde at the end) before the end of October but no sooner then the 1st of October because the system seems to be down but don't let that stop you, check out last years winners and what the events are all about.
This will be a good chance for people, like myself, who have stories laying around to try and get them finished for this competitin . And don't worry if your idea is 'shabby', as Rhapsody said "Write now, edit later"

And not forgeting that Gaia has their own NaNoWriMo comp by those in the writers forum, but has now finished on the 31th Aug. Unless you're super fast at throwing out 50,000 words then I suggest you go for the offical one. and wait for the next Gaian competition

I've been wanting to do a story about -my- kind of werewolves for a while now, so that's what my NaNoWriMo story will be about. ^^

A quick reminder that the competition will soon be opening for those who want toregister their names and what not for the competition mentioned in this thread. Starts on the 1st October.This web site has some Gaian thoughts of the competition. It's almost that time of the year again. . .
