The PS2 Higurashi game has better drawn art than the PC game, and has voice acting. It also has three new chapters:

Taraimawashi-hen, in which Keiichi ignores everything and lives normally. Unfortunately, this result in a situation not unlike Watanagashi-hen's events and Yakusamashi-hen's ending.

Tsukiotoshi-hen, dubbed the devil's scenario by some, has a Tatarigoroshi-hen like setting. However, both Rena and Shion join Keiichi in killing Teppei Hojo. After the murder, things start spiraling out of control, and a hint at how the yearly murders are commited(ie. by either human hands or supernatural means) is revealed.

Miotsukushi-hen, which replaces Matsuribayashi-hen, is a more complete ending, despite the lack of the Kakera in the PS2 game not giving much of the background information. The problems of Watanagashi/Meakashi-hen, Tatarigoroshi-hen, and Tsumihoroboshi-hen need to be solved before the main villan can be confronted. Unfortunately, an ally is lost is at the end of the chapter.

Taraimawashi-hen:Instead of Satoko being in the hospital, however, it is Mion.

Tsukiotoshi-hen: After Teppei is murdered, they start to lose their trust in each other and, long story short, Satoko and "Shion' die in a way that I still do not know(can't read the text), Keiichi and Rena find another Shion and kill her as well, and, while preparing to burn the Hojo house down with the dead bodies in it, Rena stabs Keiichi and leaves him to die in the fire. Rena is later killed by who I believe is the Yamainu.

Miotsukushi-hen: Natsumi Kimiyoshi also makes a cameo in this chapter, to take Satoko's place at the Watanagashi festival since Teppei had returned again.

There is also an exspansion of sorts to Matsuri.

It is called Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Matsuri: Kakera Asobi. It contains a movie player mode and Matsuribayashi-hen.

I did some reading about Miotsukushi-hen, and found out more stuff that happens.

Note that this description does not describe everything that happens, and may be slightly inaccurate.

It seems that at one point Takano's forces kidnap Satoko and Keiichi decides to trade Rika and Takano's note for her. But Takano shoots Keiichi, causing him to remember his death in Minagoroshi-hen. Hanyu then decides to help him out.

When Keiichi wakes back up, he, as the people on animesuki call it, activates his "Reality Marble" and is able to dodge Takano's bullets.

The "Reality Marble" is from Fate/Stay Night, by the way.

This game looks EXTREMELY good....Like, I'd go rabid fan over it. Problem is, I can't read it...I'd just look at the pictures. I love the art, and pictures quench my fandom. 4laugh

Also, I'm in between on trying to get it. Like, I want it, but I want to be able to go to sleep.

I expecially like (and am spooked by) the "scream moments", I like to call them. Like how Rena's "USO DA!" has been revamped to include an echo, and flashing in and out lights.

Does any one own it, and are you able to understand any of it, just through reasoning?

Yes, I have the game.

The scream moments, especially 'Uso da!' and the new one by Mion 'Da re?!' are really scary!

I can figure out most of what is going on in the game by reasoning.

As much as I want to, and how good an idea that is, I suck at figuring that stuff out. redface

There are other people who have done that already on Youtube, though.

Oh man. I want this game so bad. ;__;
But of course, being the unfortunate person I am, my PS2 had to go and break on me recently.

Still working on my kanji reading, but in two years I hope to study in Japan, and I'll take the opportunity to smuggle the game over then. 3nodding Oh, by the way, the mystery of this scene has been killing me:

I've seen almost every scene of Onikakushi-hen, and I know it's not from there. Might it possibly be from Tsukiotoshi-hen? What the heck is going on around here?

Yes, I definetly remember that from Tsukiotoshi-hen. I am not sure if that is before or after Teppei is killed, but I think before.

Is it a bad end? It looks like they're about to murder him, or he's about to murder them. One or the other.
