Obviously, if you watched the Sailor Moon seasons, you know the voice actors changed. The same goes for Fushigi Yugi for the special espisodes that came out after the series. Do you agree with their choice of voice actors?
Personally, I didn't really mind the change in sailor moon. Although I missed Serena's voice and Chibi Moon was really annoying, I didn't find it as bad as when they changed Tomahome's voice. He was no longer the cool guy anymore. He almost sounded like a pansy.. it really upset me lol.
Do you think that if an anime is planned to go for x amount of seasons, that they should contract the voice actors to remain or do you have no problem with changing voice actors between or in the middle of seasons?

The change of Tamahome's voice saddened me greatly! crying I loved his voice in the actual series. Eikoden just made me miss his original voice that much more.
As for Sailor Moon, the voice actress in the second half of the first season was the best. xd I don't remember her name, but she wasn't too whiny and it was bearable. The new one in Super and SuperS killed me, though. WAY too whiny and high-pitched for my tastes. xp
Anime eventually have to change voice actors...contracts expire and conflicts arise between the directors/producers/etc. and the voice actors. So it's common. I just wish they would find voice actors who sounded more like the original ones... gonk
If the voice actors are a little better than the first ones, go ahead!

Passage of time also contributes. Like, if you had asked me back then if I thought they'd ever dub any more Sailor Moon, I would have been doubtful. You can't keep an actor or actress tied down like that...
I like the second voice for Sailor Moon too. In Super and SuperS she just sounded like a husky valley girl...
I never did watch the FY OVA in English...
The only thing that really annoys me when they change voice actors is that sometimes the new one will pronounce names differently. If you're going to pronounce it wrongly in the first place, at least be consistent about it...

I only watched the Japanese series of Fushigi Yuugi so now I know Tamahome's english voice changed to the later episodes...O__O I did see the dubbed ones for the first few episodes though. Too bad they changed it since I thought he was good. To be honest, his voice was better than mucus sounding japanese Tamahome. gonk
Sailormoon, yeah. The dubbed one, where they changed her voice that sounded like an old lady, it freaked me out and made my ears cry. crying

The Fushigi Yuugi changes in the voice were fine with me since it sounded very close. But the Sailor Moon ones were horrible, especially Usagi in the american version...

never watched FY... confused
As for SM, i first heard Usagi's voice in chinese, but i was way too young to remember what she sounded like... sweatdrop but i definitely agree with everyone that the last voice change for Usagi was the most unpleasant, even repulsive! i've ever heard...
oh yes, and MemoryDragon raised a good point, about the pronunciation. it should be kept more consistent...
And about contracting with the voice actors... I don't think it's tying anyone down as long as they're not forced to act in only one series at a time... personally, i would definitely prefer having the same voice actors for the whole series... it's like having the same actors in seasons 2 of popular series...
