Roxy was currently sprinting as fast as she could, and to her luck she had finally escaped from her sitter's grasp! Just days ago this 'Betina' mare found her and decided to take care of her. But still.. she wasn't her mother, so what did SHE know?! It drove Roxy crazy, Betina was always trying to watch her and tell her what to do, and the filly just wanted to be off and free by herself! She wasn't lonely at all without the mare and she didn't need any family in the first place. Besides, if she were to have family, she would rather find her real family then hang around with some random mare!

After sprinting for another good minute, Roxy stopped herself around a small bundle of trees. She could easily hide herself in this forest, so she was thankful to walk for awhile, since she was clearly out of breath. It took her a moment to calm her body down, and once her breath had returned she sighed quietly at what looked like a clearing. Every time she found a new area of land she was always hoping to find her family or something. All the other foals she saw had mothers or fathers beside them, and she was always awkwardly by herself. The filly had put up a tough front to hide such a feeling of loneliness, but when she was by herself, it always crept back to haunt her. For many moments she just stared at the grove while feeling lost in thought.

"Ba dum dum, DUM de dum dum DUM de dum dum dum dum da-da dum, ba dum..." Meandering through the trees at his typical pokey pace, Safi was very much the picture of one at peace with himself and the day. Energetically singing his wordless song of silliness for no reason other than the joy of singing, going nowhere in particular for the sheer joy of getting there...it was a very simple, very lazy set of pleasures that, today, combined to make for a very contented stallion.

And he liked being contented; just because he would PREFER to have some company didn't mean he'd be so very rude as to turn his back on a day that had thus far been extremely accomodating to his whims. Just think what it might do if he tried to fly off in search of more excitement! No doubt it'd stir of a thunderstorm and fry him to the marrow with a strike of lightning; no, it most certainly would NOT do to aggravate the day.

Besides, who was to say that excitement wouldn't find HIM? Excitement and energy had a funny dislike of constancy, after...

Chuckling at the picture of a wandering cloud of excitment, Safi reflected briefly that sometimes, he was just a trifle silly. But in a good way, naturally!

Roxy escaped from her thoughts when she heard the stallion approaching. She couldn't see him right away, but she could hear some strange noises, and she instantly pulled herself away from the grove to look around the area. Who was coming towards her? Was it someone kind? Or should she dart away, since there was always a fear of running into something dangerous!?

With a small gulp, the filly backed her step up a bit before quickly turning around at another sound of the stallion. In the distance, she could finally see a winged creature, and he was so interestingly colored! He was still making some strange noises, and she watched him with somewhat confused eyes. Who was this guy? And why did he look so.. HAPPY.

"Hello?" she then said, in a louder voice. Had he spotted her? She was kind of puny compared to him.. but she was blue, and hopefully she stood out! Roxy hadn't met any other stallions in the land, so she was interested to see what this guy was all about. She had only been bossed around by mares, and she was sick of it! Maybe this guy would try and boss her around too.. and just thinking about it made the filly grumpy with thoughts.

Small, Roxy might be. However, even if she wasn't bright blue, it is doubtful that she could have escaped Safi's notice, especially after calling out. There are few things more noticable to one that is looking for 'objects of interest' than someone that is purposely drawing attention to oneself, after all...

That, and Saf just loved kids. Darn all his own kids growing up, for SHAME!

Upon hearing the call, Safi's ears perked up; it only took him a moment to see the filly, and at the sight his smile brightened. What a cute little filly, and so very nice and blue! Always a good color, if he did say so himself, and such a social-seeming little thing! Giving her a wave of greeting with one wing, Safi ended his little song to merrily call out, "Hello to you as well, Short Stuff! Lovely day to be out and roaming, isn't it?"

Granted, in HER case, he didn't doubt that the roaming was somewhat restricted; foals weren't often seen traversing the wilds on their own, and he didn't doubt that somewhere, not too terribly far away, there had to be lurking a parent, other responsible party, or a familiar with a nasty bite. All very prudent things, if he did say so himself...but as he wasn't an evil individual on a mission to destroy, he wasn't worried about any physical OR verbal threats to his person.

No, he'd wanted something interesting to show up, and something had! Without really waiting for the awkward pause that would undoubtably crop up in a conversation of small talk, Safi continued on. "I'm personally just on a meander; I've been in one place for so long that it seemed like my legs were going to take root! Let me tell you, that is NOT a healthy thing; you'd better watch out for that sort of thing yourself, actually, since you don't even have the option of wings. Take it from someone who knows what he's talking about; keep moving!"

With a smile meant to put nerves at ease, Safi finished his little speech with a breezy laugh. "And listen to me, chatter on like an oaf without even introducing myself. My name is Safi, but YOU can call me whatever you want."

This 'Safi' stallion was really something! Roxy was silent as he spoke, realizing he was friendly beyond belief! Well thank goodness for that, she would have surely been in trouble if this stallion was more on the evil side or something. "My brother and sister have wings like yours." she then admitted, in a quieter voice then before. "I.. I don't want my legs to get rooted, that's for sure." a small gulp escaped from her throat, but she only grinned quickly while realizing Safi was just being silly. She was quite intuitive as a child, and she liked a good joke here or there!

If there were no jokes in life, then everything would be even MORE boring then it already was. Roxy had developed a slight attitude problem because she was so unsatisfied in her daily life, but at this point in time, there was no reason to be a brat at all! She was enjoying herself!

"My name is Roxy." she then said, while puffing her chest out in a confident manner. "And I like the idea of just calling you Safi.. your name is short and easy like mine!" And thank goodness for that.. she rather liked names that were catchy and simple. "So is that what you were doing? Roaming for the day? Doesn't roaming get boring? I am off roaming and I can admit, I am rather bored, but maybe that means there is something wrong with me." she sighed somewhat, while realizing her brain was also somewhat flustered. But now she had company, right? So maybe things wouldn't be as boring as they were! "Do you mind if I keep you company while you roam?" she then asked, while moving her eyes off of his. Usually she fled from adults, but Safi was so different! He wasn't trying to control her or tell her what to do at all! "Pretty please?"

Though Safi had never had anything against the quiet or timid, it had to be admitted that he was a big fan of spirit, especially in foals. There was just something so very endearing about seeing kids who, while not mouthy, were willing to pipe up and contribute ideas to an undertaking or a conversation. Consequently, he was more than willing to indulge the little filly in her wish to accompany him...within reason, of course.

"Well, Roxy-of-the-short-name-like-mine, I am indeed roaming, but whether or not roaming is boring depends on what we make of the roaming. If all you're doing is walking, then yes, it's boring. If all you're doing is thinking about how much fun you could be doing elsewhere, or how much you wished you were elsewhere, then it is EXTREMEMLY boring. But if you wander for the sake of wandering, then it can never be boring. If you wander to look around and see how green everything is getting, to travel to new places, or with the anticipation of meeting someone new and interesting, then roaming can be amazingly entertaining."

Finishing with that little moralization, Safi gave the filly a kindly smile. "Well, little Roxy, you are more than welcome to accompany me for a little bit, if you want; maybe you ought to ask your parents first, though, or make sure it's ok, first; I don't want you OR me to get in trouble with any authority figures, you know?"

Though there was a sound behavorial reason to have Roxy check with her parents, Safi also had another motive up his sleeve. Hardly a slouch when it came to social situations, he had an excellant eye for faces and a strong memory for names...and coloration. There had been something familiar about the filly from the get-go, and once she'd menetioned her 'winged brother and sister', an image immeadiately sprang to his mind of a rather excited nephew, proudly showing off three blue baskets...

And if this little thing wasn't one of Lazzy's newest siblings, he'd eat his fox!

"Hm." the filly then said, while puckering her lips. "Parents, that's a no go." She lifted her eyes up on Safi's, and shook her head comfortably. "Apparently I have parents, but I don't remember them perfectly. I sorta remember my brother and sister, but I know my mom and dad were super blue. And their names.." she sighed, knowing THAT at least. "Do you know them? Azulia and Kwahu?" Hm. It really was a shame, she hadn't seem them in awhile really. When she had come out of the basket, Roxy remembered playing with her siblings for a bit and cuddling with her parents, and then falling asleep for the night. The rest was.. blurry, but she somehow met up with some other random mare. And curses to that!

"So I don't have to ask anyone for anything!" She then exclaimed while grinning even wider now. She knew that she had the freedom to do what she wanted.. or something. But still.. it DID feel weird, not living with her family and stuff. That must have made her super weird compared to other fillies. "I'd still like to keep you company anyways.. I promise I won't be annoying for you."

She had this distinction in her mind that she was an annoyance to her parents, and that's why they left her somewhere. The situation was unclear to her, and it was dumb of her to assume anything on her parents. For all she knew, it could have been a huge misunderstanding! But, being a young child, she only thought of the worst possible situation, since it make things more dramatic! "I was probably the problem child." she then said, while bouncing around Safi. "I just kinda guessed that." she then paused, and responded to something else Safi had said. "Wow, you are like the expert at not being bored. I should learn from you!"
