So day before yesterday, I parked my car on a side street and went to work. When I come back, car gone. My first thought is that I'm dumb and walked down the wrong side street, so I go up and down all the ones in the area (there are only a few because you run into the highway soon). No car.
So next logical step is that it's either stolen or towed. I go back to the spot where I parked, no tow away zone signs, but that doesn't mean much in New Orleans because the city can't even manage to keep all the streets updated with signs, let alone other signage. I call to find out if car is towed, am given three numbers that don't work >< then finally get one that does. They have no Subarus nor New Mexico plates. Laem. So I call cops and report it stolen, then get a friend to drive me home.
Later that night, cops call back. My car is parked on the block where I had parked it, and where I stood when making all the phone calls. That's what confuses me. I could see myself being stupid and having been on the wrong street, but I stood right there for like half an hour on the phone, much of which was on hold so I was looking around at cars and such. I can't have missed it.
I biked over yesterday morning, car was right where I parked it. Nothing broken or anything like it was taken for a joyride, lulz. Just sitting there. So wtf? Either I am blind or crazy, or there is an elaborate prank going on.

Lulz. Mebbe. Iunno who. Wife is the only other person with a key, and he was in class. If someone broke in, they did it really well, since nothing was broken or anything.

What kind of drug makes you see normally, except that you just miss one large object, like a car? xD

Lolol. Totally. 1995 Subaru Legacies are the s**t. Especially when they have cracked windshields and a broken side mirror. And semi-functional AC. And are dirty. And scratched up with the occasional ding. And have an organic component - a little piece of stick in the bumper from hitting a tree.

Time to go to a psychiatrist and tell 'em you're not seeing things?
Or maybe an optometrist.

Probably both.
My response has been to pretend it didn't happen.
