Where does 'Meimu' originate from? I'm famillar with player two and dark Reimu but really? Where did she come from?

She was created by a Chinese Touhou fan.
Apparently it was a random youkai that looked similar to Reimu that Yukari kidnapped, renamed, and forced to wear dark miko clothes as a joke. She reportedly was trained in gap use by Yukari, but her primary ability is a sort of perfect regeneration where she's composed of some indestructible black substance that can reform. She's come to like her new home somewhat, and apparently is friends with Chen.
a fascinating character, really.

Actually I think she was some unused character that doujin made popular.
Or maybe I'm mistaking her with some other character... I know there are unused things in the games, even ZUN himself says so.

Infinity mk-II Actually I think she was some unused character that doujin made popular. Or maybe I'm mistaking her with some other character... I know there are unused things in the games, even ZUN himself says so. That's Rin.

Judging by how they wrote her name in hiragana to her topright (says "Meimu") that must be her. However, don't take my word for certain. I've never heard of Meimu (just "Leimu", but that's because the Japanese change their pronounciation of tons of things by the drop of a hat) and her name could have been changed by digital manipulation.
