What should be done to make this guild attract more of the right people, the people who really listen to industrial/post industrial?
We want this guild to be a sort of "haven" for those who are truly into industrial music, truly support bigger and local acts of industrial/post industrial, and related sub genres.
Granted, there arent alot who would be willing to join a guild.
But damnit, that doesnt mean we can try to make this guild the best industrial guild to those who are truly for that music.
If you're tired of the pathetic trend whores who who change thier muisc tastes like they change thier personalities ( and there are alot of those) then this is the right place.
We will try our best to filter through the fakes and encourage the reall industrial heads to come back over and over to this guild, to the freinds they make here that they can relate to.
I suppose on the outside it sounds cheesy and sounds like an ill attempt to try to make a guild super active.
But, take a moment to relate to us, your captain and vice captain.
We have endured in this scene for a while now, and we have seen alot of things come and go in this scene. We've seen bands rise based on the fact that they became a fan girl trend, and we've seen bands fall because there just wasnt enough true supporters.
More and more, we hear how the scene is rotting away, soley for the fact that the bigger people who once supported it, now abandon it, after complaining that it's "dying."
People ask me, why does it matter to you? Why should you even care?
I do care, because this music means alot to me, unlike other people, who listen to certain music on certain days, with certain people,to be a certain person.
No, I love industrial music, I love trance, I love agrotech, I love metal, too.
It aggravates me to no end that the industrial music scene dwindles on a fine edge, also, due to the fact, that alot of musicians of the genre are timid to try something ground breaking, something new with it.
I can understand why. Half the time when they do, people are taken aback, and usually have insults waiting to be screamed at the artist.
That's part of our reason for this guild.
I started this guild so that like people of like music could swarm together and cleanse it of disease. Though, it may only be a small fraction, every little bit helps.

why be enemies among ourselves?! Unless someone deserves to be an enemy then there is no reason. There are places outside of here where you can find enemies wink and still keep them close. Everyone should have an opinion though because thats the whole point. Im a friend to anyone here atm smile

My uncle introduced me to industrial a while back, and was enthralled when he saw how many of my friends liked it too (it seems everyone I'm friends with likes industrial).
There are so few people left who truly love industrial/aggrotech we can't really afford to be enemies with ourselves.

Exactly, but there's alot of people in this scene, like any other scene, who will treat you like you're dirt. I think because people are afraid of new comers to the scene, honestly. they dont want something that means alot to them to turn into waste like other scenes have: Overwhelmed with puss like morons destroying what it once meant, the appeal of it, and overall, the enjoyability of it.
Then again, some people are just jerks, lol

Then again, some people are just jerks, lol Also...the closed-minded elitist douches....they treat everyone who doesnt fit their preconcieved notion of industrial just right like crud, either because of bands they dont view as belonging or a person not dressing just like them. WHICH if you wanna get down to it, kinda defeats the whole meaning behind Industrial...especially when they try and be elitist about the music itself, and say oh guitar that way, not industrial, or doing whatever this way, not industrial. The whole point of industrial was it was supposed to be a different and experimental type of music to make something beyond standard. Now, by the elitists trying to put such tight restrictions on the music ( i mean ok, any category has it's limits...but there is a limit to limits lol)..they are kind of missing the point. lol ok i am done ranting for now...

Real outcasts.. let's face it people, us Industrials- Rivets, Cybers--
What have you- we are all outcasts from general society..
We know what it's like to be discriminated against.
We know what it's like to be nothing
To be hated.
To be .. *groan* Must sat it-- Misunderstood.
So most of us don't do it to other people-
Theoretically
Sure- there are the arrogant assholes
The untouchables--
But those- the real ones-
For them it's only a defense mechanism-
Weeding out the people that might hurt them, or simply the fakes--
The truth is that the whole issue is centered around
The people in it for the street cred.-->
And the people in it because it calls to them.
The question is..
Do you feel like this 'scene' is a second, or first family?
Is it more than just music, more than just a passing fancy, or
Is it a place where you know you belong?
Those fakes,
Lets face it kiddies, most people were emo, went through that awkward little phase in high school- whether they knew it or not- or whether 'emo' existed as a fashion- that's irrelevant--
Emos (Scene)
and the Impostors--
They don't understand this innate connection- because they don't share it.
I say let them come and go-
Focus on finding the real people, on yourself,
Worrying about everyone else doesn't help you-
Those idiots want your attention- that's what they're in it for- rates, pleasure-- they want to ******** you-

To seduce you with honey-sweet lies, thick cloying wonderful lies--
Gossips that feel so dirty and right and make you feel so high--
They're the drugs and the poison that infect our way of life- and
All they bring is disease and disgusting---
They're like Twilight- sickly sweet, parading around as something dark, it's fake and a bastardization of everything WE stand for--
It's sweet, satisfies in a way- but it's devoid of any nutritional or emotional value......
