Clans:
Obviously, there are four cat clans
Thunderclan
Riverclan
Windclan
Shadowclan.
There is also StarClan - where cats who have passed on live. They are the guardians to the other clans, and live in the heavans and stars.
Each clan controlls their own boundaries, Hunt within their own boundaries, and fight to protect and keep their boundaries.

Cat Ranks:
Cat ranks are as follows-
Newborns/Kits.
Obviously, these are the lowest rank, but not nessecarily the worst rank. This is the rank you are if you are a kitten, or new born.
Apprentice:
An apprentice is what you become once you have grown from a kit. Apprentices are given mentors, usualy fellow clan warriors, who train and teach an apprentice to hunt/fight/hide/ect.
Warrior:
A Warrior is the step up from an Apprentice. Warriors do all the main fighting, hunting, and patrolling on cat clan bounderies.
Queens:
Queens are she-cats who are with kit or who have a newly born litter. They tend to stay in the nursery with their litter, and are checked on and brought food by apprentices or warrior cats.
Elders:
Elders are older cats who can no longer care for theirselves. They have a special den to sleep in that is lined in moss and other things to make them comfortable. They are often fed first, as it is the job of apprentices to bring them food, or clean their furr depending on situation or punishment.
Medicine Cat:
Medicine cats learn knowledge of herbs to use to treat injured or sick cats. They know all about the plants of their land, and what to use to cure or heal a wound. Medicine cats are also the ones who talk to StarClan. They see and tell about predictions and prophacies that are to come.
Deputy:
Deputy is the main aid to the cat clan leader. They help organize and set up parties to patrol or hunt for the clan. They will also fight if needed.
Leader:
The leader is basically the leader of the cat clan. They decide when it is time for Kits to become apprentices, Apprentices to become Warriors, and call clan meetings to discuss what is needed to be done.
Loner:
A cat that lives neither with a Clan or with humans, normally used to describe a friendly rogue.
Rogue:
Another term for loner, but more offensive; a cat, usually more hostile than a loner, who is part of no Clan, or a cat who was exiled from his original Clan; rogues will sometimes live with other rogues, but they generally travel alone or with their mate.
Kittypet:
A cat that lives with humans, usually do not go into the forest.

When it is time for an Kit or Apprentice to become the next rank, the clan holds a small naming ceremony. The Leader will call to their clan, and they will gather around, with the said cat(s) to be named up infront, along with the Deputy and Medicine cat. The leader will give the cat his/her new name and the cat is to touch noses with the leader, then after the congradulatory praises, the cat is to sit Vigil for the night. He/She has to stay awake to watch for signs of danger and can not speak till He/She is releaved the next morning.
Highstone/Moonrock/Cave:
The Moonrock is a stone inside a cave that the Medicine cats go to see once every couple of Moons. Only Medicine cats and their appretices make this long journey to speak with StarClan. This is where they go to learn about any phrophacies or predictions.
Gathering at Four Trees:
The Four Trees is a group of well - four trees - that surround a large boulder. The Gathering at Four Trees is where all 4 Cat clans meet beneath StarClan to discuss whats going on in their territory, possible threats, share predictions/prophacies, and to name new Apprentices/Warriors/Medicine Cats/Deputys/and on occasion leaders. Each Cat clan leader stands upon the large boulder, and adresses cats of all clans.

*The clan usually commences into cheering of the new name. The cat will need to stand silent vigil for the night and guard the camp.
Deputy Ceremony
Leader: I say these words before the body of (former Deputy), so that his/her spirit may hear and approve my choice. (New deputy name) will be the new deputy of (Clan).

Dying Apprentice Ceremony
Leader: I ask my warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice. He/she has learned the warrior code and has given up his/her life in the service of his/her Clan. Let StarClan receive him/her as a warrior. He/she will be known as (Warrior Name).

(In the Moonpool/stone at half-moon, the medicine cat gives ceremony)
MedCat: "(Apprentice Med Cat), is it your wish to enter the mysteries of a medicine cat?"
