Hey all,
With the last couple of sessions of Captain N there's a lot of talk going on about what's going on in Videoland and North Hackettsville. I hear rumor there's several theories about what is really going on, who Hacker is, and so on.
I though it might be cool to see what's on everyone's minds! Post here your theories about the game, discuss! I won't give anything away!
Although I still have my bets on Frank being Hacker! ninja

My guesses:
Hacker isn't working for Trance Microelectronics -- he's actually working against them, meaning that there's more of a triad rather than a good-versus-evil straightforward thing.
Hacker isn't Kevin Keene, but he knows where he is. In fact, Kevin might have given Hacker his things rather than Hacker having stolen them, to keep them out of Trance's hands. Hacker just went a little mad with power, and has taken it upon himself to save Videoland by fortifying it against Trance's invasion. Game Genie is working for Kevin Keene, which is why he says he has his own agenda.
Or, alternately, Hacker IS Kevin Keene, or at least USED to be. Kevin was twisted and changed by Trance, which is why he's so adamant about protecting Videoland from them. He's a hero, which is why he's got a Keyblade, and he's made deals with Game Genie and Game Shark to help him protect Videoland (because they'll all be out of a job if Videoland is destroyed/taken over by Trance).
Ayato is actually Shigeru Miyamoto's nephew, and knows a lot more than he's letting on. He's probably on a secret mission for him right now, and wields god-like powers in Videoland (should he ever get there again).
And I'm probably horrendously wrong on most of those, but it was still fun smile

Well, for one thing I do not believe Hacker is at all 'good' regardless of who he is. Sure he could be Kevin, he could be Ayato, he could be no one but one of Trance's creations gone completely maverick.
If he's trying to unite videoland then that's great and all, though extremely unachievable - and I think Hacker (though I hate to say this) is a lot smarter then that. I think he's trying to cause lots of chaos in order to distract us from something else going on.
I want to know why he's target specifically Makenzie and not the other captains. To me anyway, that proves that he has vested interest in Nintendo, and N. Hackettsville. Mac just found out Kevin never left Trance, and Hacker has his zapper and buckle... interesting, no?
Anyways, I have no real theories, per se. Just ideas and questions.

I (and Zero) have already voiced my (our) opinion on the matter. It doesn't matter who Hacker is, I'm not convinced he's a bad guy. Videoland may just be so stubborn and set in its ways to admit that they might just be wrong. Notice how they just handwaved the threat of Trance Microelectronics? Something tells me that's going to come full circle and bite them in the a**. Violently.

No, wait, I've got it! Hacker is actually Simon Belmont, who, fed up with his constant playing second fiddle to Kevin Keene, turned to cheating as a way to finally beat him! That also explains why he picked Castlevania to be merged with Ghosts N' Goblins, and why Dracula seems to know him. It makes so much sense!
To me, at least.
And let us not forget that episode of the TV show where Simon gets brainwashed into a bad guy...

I've only Officially given 2 hints to you guys since Hacker first appeared, at least as far as I can recall. I can't say whether anyone has taken those hints to heart or if we're all grasping at straws.
Do I need to ask what everyone is thinking about Dimitri Trance? You know, besides the "F*** you, Brent" thing. What's his angle?

I think I remember the hints, but I'm not believing a word you say, you b*****d. You're just trying to lull us into a false sense of security with your petty "hints."
Also, Dimitri Trance better not be some kind of cat-person in disguise who wants to take over the world through the use of Tetris blocks and midi music. If he is, I quit!

The Star Fox team is fine -- they're badass, and I can comfortably say that I've liked them since their SNES days (when they sounded like they were Charlie Brown's teachers). But Brent-cat-people will make me go crazy and hurt things especially when they break my airship.
Also, I have Midna's mood for the next session all planned out already. I can't wait for it smile

You must be loving this you evil b*****d! Watching us run around with our crazy theory's. ^^ Here's one more. It could be one of the other captain's. Game Genie told us not to trust anyone and these are the people we would most likely trust. It could be anyone of them, Playstation because of his arrogance, Xbox lusting for power, even Sega for revenge! My bet is Captain Atari. He's been around the longest and has saved Video land before. He could have gotten the zapper from Kevin when he went back to the real world, though I cant explain the Key Blade and it could be a misguided attempt to save Video Land from Trance's attempts to take it over. He might not feel any of the other captain's can handle it so he's targeting the most powerful one at the moment, Nintendo, to get the wii-mote and is gonna try to stave off Trance.

You guys have it all wrong. Hacker is actually "Lou Ferrigno". He's teamed up with Hulk Hogan and is using the residents of video land to test their new workout training program. He's just there to "pump you up."
