In no particular order:
the Cleric Quintet : R.A. Salvatore The Foundation series: Isaad Asimov The Dark Tower: Stephen King The Belgariad and The Mallorian: David and Leigh Eddings The Chronicles of Narnia: C. S. Lewis The Prydian Chronicles: Christopher LLoyd The Dragonriders of Pern: Anne McCaffery The Cat Who mysteries: Lillian Jackson-Braun The Ship series by Anne McCaffery The Rowan and related books in that series by Anne McCaffery All Things Wise and Wonderful: James Herriot Ender's Game: Orson Scott Card The Drizzt books: R. A. Salvatore
I'm sure there are a ton more but I don't remember them right off the top of my head. The Sword of Truth books were ok but not worth reading the whole series for, they got too formulaic.
The Dresden Files were ok but also got a bit formulaic.
The Harry Potter books were good but Malfoy annoyed me so much I had to stop reading.
Remnants was quite good. I forget the author.

I'm kinda repetitive on my series...
Twilight (next one comes out August 2nd!!!) Wariors The Ring trilogy And The Brothers Grim, but that's more of a collection...
I read more of a spicific author than series books.

I enjoy the Discworld series and the Brentford triolgy by Robert Rankin (it's called that even tho it's more than 3 books lol) AND the Undead series by Mary Janice Davidson
I find chronicle type novels take themselves too seriously for the most part.

I wouldn't classify these as favorites, as much as guilty-pleasure-pulp-paperback addictions:
Dresden Files, Jim Butcher Dark Hunters, Sherrilyn Kenyon Stephanie Plum, Janet Evanovich
And the New Frontier series by Peter David.
