"I have in my hands the means, and in my heart, the will." Do you think eventually, Zeris will have so many fans that it will be as heavily debated as Cloti and Cleris? Do you think a sole Zeris group will form, make their own Forums, etc...?
And also, do you think most would be on the Cloti or Cleris sides? (Like, in debates.)
I kind of want to make a Zeris pairing club on AC.NET... I think there already is a dead one, though. D;

It takes four months of no action for a club to officially die. It's been less than a month for their Zeris club, so it's not there yet. However, I was told to keep my distance because it's more of a, "Zack and Aeris only loved each other in the past" type of club.
Back when the game came out (FFVII), there was a little wiggle room with bad translations and such for the LTD. Nowadays, the information is too clear cut and too obvious, that the idea of a new debate with new people won’t really happen. The amount of people out there who even have access to FFVII is slipping faster and faster. The only people who will continue debating Cleris will be the ones who have been doing it for a long time. Even they are giving up (as you could see). Sticking to their clubs, not wanting their views challenged. Which, I would say is fair enough, if they were in there just discussing how cute the pairing is, ect. However, we all know that’s not the case. Oh well…
There will be new Cleris people, people who just like the pairing, and they might get sucked into the previous debate, but at this point it's too hard for a new person to the series to seriously see SE going in a Cleris direction.
Zeris now has more ammo, but I think it’s always been apart of the debates. It’s just now more clear as to how romantic and strong their relationship really was. SE could have made it a fling, something non-important, and perhaps that would have shown us they were serious about Cleris. However, they didn’t, and therefore only strengthened what most people had already assumed about the couple.
There won’t be a new debate, per say, just the ongoing one with even more overwhelming evidence to support one side.
Also, I think Zeris might become just as big as the other two in a short time because, as I said, it’s hard to get a copy of FFVII, whereas it’s not too difficult to play Crisis Core. The speed at which this guild has grown is some proof of that alone.

I highly doubt that Zeris would be a major player in the LTD. Cleris and Cloti debates are way too strong to allow any alternate thinking really. I think Zeris would exist more of a side, a subtle pairing. That doesn't mean that there won't be fans, it's just that it won't be as strong. Perhaps in the future with the new generation......

» Oh! i like this thread! *ponders*
Hm, i think Zerith will become popular, because of CC, but not enough to do anything to the clorith or cloti sides, i think those two sides have grown too much over the years for a new pairing to do anything. But i guess this all depends on what side you currently take.
As for the whole who's side, i think Zerith's would most likely be in the cloti side, for obvious reasons, but there maybe some who will go to the clorith side for reasons im not sure i can discuss here <3

XP I don't mind if you've read a script and feel you know enough about the story to discuss it, but until you've experienced it, you don't know 'everything'. Like how I'd never act like I know everything about CC. I know a lot, but there's still many ascepts of the game that I know nothing about and won't know about until I've actually sat down and played it.

I've seen plenty of people who were fans of "young love" Zeris, or "in the past" Zeris. =D I wish more of them would join here, so they could see another side and also so we could have a wider variety. x'D We only have ... two Cleris members here now. We need more supporters that are neutral/whatever!
After CC though, a lot of those "past Zeris" supporters became full-fledged supporters. Myself included. biggrin Actually, I became one before CC came out. . . but it was when I read the game would focus on "Zacks Story" which included "Zack and Aeriths relationship" . =D

New gen. FFVII fans have to worry about a lot....
Not being unfair to all canon pairings, making sure not to start arguments with old fans as to this and that, and still be able to enjoy the story at the end of the day....
...Or maybe I just overthink it too much...

New fans who don't take the time to understand the original, but then try to discuss it on the internet are like new fans to Star Wars who only watch the prequels and don't bother with the original trilogy and then try to discuss things. You can be a fan of Crisis Core, or any of the other newer additions to the compilation, but if you are going to join in discussions, you should do your research. Nobody's saying that you need to know absolutely every little detail. And nobody's excepting every fan to be right all the time. Being corrected is nothing to be ashamed of. New fans just need to stop pretending like they understand the compilation enough to have real discussions over it without understanding the most important part, FFVII.
As I said, you can read a script if you can't get a hold of the game. That, or don't try to discuss the compilation with people who know what they are talking about. Instead, ask questions.

I hope so... I mean, Aeris is dead so maybe they'll go to the Cloti pairing... But I'm thinking maybe ppl liked the Cleris pairing not because they like the pairing itself but because they like Aeris more than Tifa... Dunno, just a thought... Oh yeah, I passed by fanfiction.net a while ago and, unfortunately, there were more Cleris stories than Zeris. crying

Don't worry about people who want their fanon to be canon. Everybody who enjoys a fanon pairing wants desperately for there to be something more. Like me, I like to think Aeris felt something for Tseng. It's not canon, but I still like it.
The creators have said that Zeris and Cloti are canon. So, they are already 'going in that direction'. XD
