 Spring was in full swing. The grass hand grown in again, and wildflowers of all shapes and sizes bloomed all over. The days where long and warm, with a cooling breeze blowing over the rolling hills. A young, darkly colored female Ulaya sat at the entrance to her home and smiled at her surroundings. The stream that ran past her cave had ground stronger with the melting of the snow and she could hear it well from where she was. Her ears twitched at the sound of birds and her silver blue eyes shifted to watch them.
She enjoyed spring, watcher her gardens grow and her birds dance around each other in search of a mate. The warmth was nice as well, she wasn’t much of a fan for the cold and snow. Standing she decided on a walk and made her way out of the small area she called home, slipping between the trees that hide her cave and gardens from others eyes. Following along the stream she came upon the pond she often used for swimming or bathing and leaned down to drink.

Haru came up to the surface of the pond triumphant, with a small fish in his mouth. He had finally learned how to maneuver his body under the water and to hold his breath. It made catching fish a bit easier. He started making his way to the shore, when he caught site of someone. He was so startled that he dropped the fish that was in his jaws, and it stayed open, just like that.

Atl jumped back slightly as something surfaced and she sat there staring as the other Ulaya, whom had yet to noticed her, moved through the water. She remained silent, as not to startled the other, but frowned slightly as he noticed her and dropped the fish anyway. Her ears lowered a little as he stared at her then she lowered her eyes to the water. Why was he just staring, was he upset at her for frightening him and causing him to loss his fish? “ I… I’m sorry. ” Her voice was low and nerves, showing that she wasn’t used to talking to others to often.

"Oh..." He said, slowly closing his mouth. "Nothing to be sorry for." He blushed and looked away for a second. It wasn't everyday someone could make him speechless. "I'm Haru." He smiled at her shyly. It was strange... usually he was very outgoing with strangers.

Keeping her head lowered she shifted her eyes to look up at the male. Forcing a friendly smile on, not that she wasn’t friendly, but she had a hard time smiling when she was nervous. Allowing her ears to raise a little she tried to look a little more friendly, realizing that she might look no so friendly. “ Oh.. My names Atl. ” She watched him float there in the water a moment before realizing that she might be staring and she quickly shifted her eyes away again. “ Um… I… I like you’re name. ”

He flushed again. "Thank you. I like you too. I mean... I like your name... I've never heard it before. I mean. No one else has that name. That I know." He cringed at what was coming out of his mouth, but he couldn't seem to help himself. To cover up his embarrassment, he started making his way to land, about 5 yards from where she was. He stepped up onto the shore and shook himself off.

Her eyes moved to him quickly as he said he liked her and she stared as he tried to correct himself. She was a little surprised that he had said he liked her or even her name. She, nor her name, where anything special but she smiled back at him anyway. Turning she watched him climb out of the water and shake himself off. Noticing that he hadn’t gone back for the fish he had dropped. “ I… I am sorry for causing y…you to loss you’re meal. I can catch y…you another if y…you’d like? ”

His stomach grumbled as she mention the fish. He was rather hungry. "Well, we could go fishing together if you'd like." He flashed a quick grin at her. She was very pretty, and he found himself blushing each time he stole a glance at her. "It will be fun, you and me together." He couldn't help but smile picturing it. "Fishing, that is." he added hastily.

She smiled whole heartedly and couldn’t help but chuckle slightly. “ I…I wouldn’t mind that at all, I…I haven’t been fishing in a while. ” Standing she turned to look towards the water of the pond. Dipping her paw in she the water she flinched slightly at the cool temperature. A small grin spread over her face and she looked to the lighter colored male. “ I’ll r…race you, first t.to return with a f..fish wins? ”

What a surprising lady! He thought, grinning slightly to himself. "Alright, but I'm not going to go easy on you!" He trotted up next to her and aligned them so they were an even distance from the water. (which wasn't very far.) "One, two..."

The grin spread wider and before Haru could call out the third number Atl had jolted forwards. “ Th.three! ” And she was gone, vanishing under the surface. She loved fishing, and in turn spent a lot of time doing it and was rather good at it. It took a moment for her eyes to adjust to the light and the feel of the water against them, but the moment they did she stopped a group of fish swimming near the bottom. She was off in that direction, scanning and picking out the one she wanted and chasing it. It didn’t take to long to catch it, grabbing it in her teeth but not actually killing it yet as she made her way to the surface. Braking free she inhaled deeply before looking around to see if Haru had surfaced yet.

Haru was so surprised that Atl jolted out before him that it took him a moment to get going himself. He dove into the water and looked around, but didn't see anything at first. He looked to his left and saw Atl just as she was catching a fish. He was a little disappointed that she won, but it was all fun. He decided to play a little prank on her though, and made his way to her surfaced body under water. He reached up with his forearms and tugged on her dangling feet a little bit. He didn't want to actually scare her, just surprise her a bit.

Feeling something brush up against her foot before tugging at her Atl’s eyes widened and she let out a cry. This resulted in her dropping her fish as Haru had earlier. It hit the water with a splash and quickly swam away, fearful of getting snatched up again. Atl turned her head and looked down into the water. Spotting Haru she glared slightly, or at least tried to. She had to admit that it would be funny it she was watching it happen to someone else. But once more the had to fish. Taking a breath she dove down again and lightly bopped Haru on the head, not trying to hurt him but merely playing like he had been.
Before he could do anything back however she was already off looking for a new fish again. It didn’t take her to much longer the first another, though slightly smaller, one. Catching it was a little more tricky this time but she id it. Bringing it to the surface and quickly making her way to shore. Pulling herself out of the water and shaking off before looking for the male.

Grinning underwater as she bopped him on the head, Haru swam up to the surface, took a deep breath and dove down again. He hadn't meant to make her lose her fish, and he hoped she would be able to catch another.
He made his way through the water, trying to find a fish for himself. One swam right in front of his face, and he was fast enough to snatch it up before it got away. He came up to the surface with it, and realized how big it was. It was probably a little over a foot long!
He dropped the fish onto the shore, securing it with his paws so it wouldn't get away. He was somewhat close to Atl, and he shook off all his excess water, grinning. "Sorry about that." He said mischievously.

She watched Haru surface and climb to shore. She dropped her fish as well, holding it in place with a paw before speaking. “ T…That was a dirty t..t..trick. ” Once more she tried to glare at him as she took a seat. A small smiled tugged at the edge of her lips, showing that she really wasn’t to upset about it though even though she looked angry. At least she was managing to keep herself from laughing at the whole situation and blowing her cover completely. She wasn’t sure why but she was actually more relaxed around him then she would normally be.
