My worst fall was when I was riding Canyon, a filly I ride in shows now and then. We were training for a show that was coming up in a couple of weeks or so, and when we went into a jog, she suddenly tripped over herself and we both flew forward. That was the first time in months that she had ever tripped at all! I was stuck under her for around ten minutes before they could get the saddle off and get her to her feet, but not without Lee Ann (my instructor) getting kicked in the shoulder. Both Canyon and Lee Ann were alright, but I had to go to the hospital.

Oh, i got two!
1.) it was during a lesson on this gelding Sky, i rode this horse before and he was fantastic. I was going to lease him. But this time he was being a little snot and couldn't handle being outside so we went inside. We were doing..eh, OK, but i was just about to ask him to canter and we were at a stand still and we EXPLODED and before i knew it I tumbled over the side of he shoulder...and into the wall xP. I re-sprained my ankle that day. Never did lease him.
2.) This on was on my horse, Cookie. While waiting to use the round pen(the only ring i have) my dad said well, why don't you take a walk on the trail. So i went a little bit in the trail, and the first part of the trail is very narrow, just enough room to squeeze on it, because we had to carve it outourselfs becasue the real trail was more in the woods on landlocked property. i went a little bit then just turned her around to go bakc, but she was like no!!! i dun wanna! so we started to "fly away home" weaving through the trees, oh yeah i was bareback and was just using my hackamore and there was no room at all to do an emergency stop, we would probably get really hurt. she was buckin' rearin' (no i'm not southern haha, nor am i making fun of them) and i was doing on ok gob of staying on, untill the last 3 yards of the end of the trail and the opeing to our land, i slipped oiff her shouldber becasue i couldn't hold on anymore, and i fell off her, the only fall off her....yet. It was very scary for me! And i just hoped on her, i didn't do any games or warm ups...bad me >.>

The worst two falls I've had were both on Squirty. Notice how I said 'worst two': there have been several. mad D He has cantering issues and used to buck quite a bit, but he's doing much better. Anyways, fall number one was when I was riding him in the back pasture/arena, and I was in an old saddleseat saddle [my English didn't fit him] and I wasn't using the stirrups 'cause they threw me all off. We weren't even cantering, just trotting in an oval, and I suppose he decided that he had enough of my left leg and threw himself into some of the fiercest crow hops and bucks I've ever seen him throw. Somehow, I managed to stay on through some of the harder bucks - with no saddle horn to grab or stirrups to stabilize, but I was grabbing the pommel. Well, I lost the reins, and my legs slipped back, and he wasn't stopping, so I decided to slide off instead be flipped over on or something equally terrible. Just as I was throwing myself off, he bucked again, and I landed on my knee, hip, and shoulder. It hurt! Of course I was wearing the jeans that had a huge hole in the knee, and now I have a huge scar on my knee from the scrape that got all infected, and I couldn't walk for three days. After that I rode him just as normal as usual. biggrin
The second time was when I was getting on him bareback. He doesn't like to stand for bareback mounting, so we put him next to a fence and my mom gave me a leg up. Well, I forgot that my spurs were still on my boots...and I jabbed him in the hip when I tried to pull myself over. Needless to say, he took off like a bat out of hell. Unfortunately, he was heading right for the roundpen and Rio the Stallion's fence. Well, he pulled one of the best sliding stops/rollbacks he'll probably ever do in his life, and I was launched in the direction we were going. My mom literally screamed 'DON'T FALL OFF!' which was in vain, she just kinda panicked. I slid several feet and literally ate grass that day. [Falling at an angle and then sliding through damp grass is an interesting sensation...] I was lucky I wasn't flung headfirst into the gate. Since we were right next to it. Of course, the first thing I said when I got up was 'CLOSE THE GATE! I NEED TO GET MY HORSE!' And then I assessed the damage. I almost sprained my finger, but that was it. So far I haven't done any bad damage biggrin There was one strange time when I fell off...I was riding Rio and he was pretty much the exact opposite of collected, or something, he was three at the time and barely broke, and he was doing this weird mid-limbo between trotting and cantering. Well, he moved funky and I totally lost my balance and slipped off, much to my confusion. Bill said, "I have never seen anyone fall off a horse who has all four feet on the ground." mad D

My worst fall was when I had my riding accident. I was galloping through the woods,a pretty normal practice,up a hil.One minute I was heading up the hill with my mate beside me the next I veered off to the left while clinging onto the side of my saddle. The next thing I remmeber was hitting the ground and seeing my horses feet go past my head as she rolled.
Phantom ( my horse that I was on) and I had fallen down a 3-4 ft bank into an area that had recently been tree felled. Sadly Phantom shatterd her shoulder and had to be put down.It was the saddedst moment ever and the most shocking. To have a happy healthy horse when I left the stables to going back without one was a real blow. I survived (obviously) luckily I had fallen off just before she had rolled and on the opposite side to the one she had gone down on,I am sure if I had falen off of the right side I would most certainly have been crushed to death. crying
Edit : The horse that I own now ,Bryer, is Phantom's daughter 3nodding

The most stupid one was when I was learning to ride, I was on this tiiinnyy welsh x called Ted, we were trotting round the corner, with stirrups and everything and I just... slipped off. It was pretty funny actually, and to this day I don't know how I managed it xD
Another weird one was when I was riding this lovely roan called Rocky, and he just tripped and fell onto his knees and I rolled off over his head o_o; He was a bizarre horse, and it was probably good we were in the sand school and not on the road or anything Dx
I've never had any bad falls *touch wood*. My sister got thrown into a jumping wing though once, and they thought she'd fractured a vertebrae in her neck. Turned out to be just a pulled muscle, but it was still pretty scary.

Luckily, my worst fall wasn't too bad.
I had taken Cuzco into the field for a bareback ride. I hadn't ridden her for a few months (this was in early spring), and she was pretty excited about it. Well, stupid Snickerz decided to go for a canter. Cuzco just couldn't control herself and kicked up her heels a bit. She didn't realize that I couldn't hang on as well as I could with a saddle, and I slid right off her back and onto my butt in the grass. She lept away to avoid stepping on me, stopped, did a double take, and came back. I could see the look on her face: "Snickerz, what'cha doin' down there?" I was so mad at her! x]

I've fallen 5 times, and none of them were at all serious. Each time I got back on the horse right away, no hezitation (except for the one time where i had to walk a few kms back to get him... also the only time ive ever been 'dumped'). The worst though was when a friend and i were on a trail ride, we were cantering, i was in front, and we came around a cornor and 20 feet infront of us was a 4 wheeler. Next thing i know im in the bushes and Jack's running home. He was really out of shape and galloped about 5 km. He was pretty tierd after that lol.

I've never had any super-bad falls, although I've had a couple scary ones.
Like the time I was riding my Shetland pony, Pony, bareback and she spooked at a lawnmower. Falling off wasn't scary, but her almost running over me was.
Then there were those few times I fell off my Welsh pony Dominique and got the air knocked out of me. I know this happens to everybody at some point, but it scared me to death the first time!
Scariest for me (and still not TOO bad lol) was when my horse was cantering in the arena and he fell down when we went around a corner. It was awful timing--he had never been willing to canter in corners, always cutting off the ends of the arena, and when he finally followed the rail, he fell. Needless to say he still hates corners.
I think probably the worst fall I've had in terms of physical after-effects would be one last summer off of our horse Rusty, who we'd raised from a baby but never really done anything with (and who I'm just now starting to work with, now that he's almost 10). I attempted an emergency dismount but landed kinda on my hip, and I've had back and neck problems for almost a year now because of it.
Frankly I think my most terrifying experiences have been when I stayed ON the horse, lol! xd

The scaryest fall would have to be when I was tyring to get this like 20 year old appy to canter, he didn't want to, I got bucked off into a wall. =[. nothing happened though I got on and then my instructor got on and made him canter around a few times, I didn't get hurt or anything. It was just the only time I really got thrown. All the other times it has been my fault or the horse spooked or I lost a sturrip, but this time that horse wanted me off.

I havent fallen off in over... a year and a half maybe? it sucks!! i never knock on wood when i say that cause i barely remember what its like. i need to fall off sometime soon to get me ridin back in order.
i havent ever had really terrifying falls, ive just gotten the wind knocked out of me like fifty times.
the most terrifying times for me are when i get bucked around and barely stay on. one time i was walking out and the horse i was riding started bucking around cause he spooked at something. ...i was drinking a mountain dew (which i had to aggressively clean off my saddle), holding my reins loose with one hand, and no stirrups... i was so scared because no one was watching, lol. for some reason, when a horse freaks out on me, no one's in the ring. and they're perfect when like everyones watching. sweatdrop
my friends have had some pretty scary falls. one of them almost fell into a liverpool, one was hanging on to the neck at a full gallop but magically climbed back up >.> one banged her head into a standard and got a concussion... lordy. lol!

My worst fall, injury wise, was when a mare that I was riding out on a trail for reasons still unknown to me let out this random crow-hop at a walk. Completely not expecting it and I'd dropped my stirrups earlier, I popped over her head. It wouldn't have been bad, but I landed on a pile of rocks/tree limbs and ended up fracturing my hip.
Scariest fall was on Jag, my gelding - the only time I've ever been scared around him. We had moved to a new barn a coupld days earlier and he seemed to have settled in so we were going to go out for a short ride and explore. When we're about a mile away, he balks and as soon as I put leg on him, he started rearing madly. I mean, seriously - he would not stop, I was trying to turn him in circles but he just would bend, and or rear off to the side. Finally, after about a minute of constant rears, I just bailed (so not exactly a 'fall' per say) and as soon as I was off he was fine. Needless to say, after a couple minutes of trying to figure out what triggered it, I got back on and we finished our trail ride without a problem. It was weird, but I was terrified.

My worst fall...
My worst fall was when I fell in love with shay. LOL! My parent's bank account has never been the same (okay so that's not entirely Shay's fault).
jk jk I'll think about it and post it later =P
