Hey! Don here, you might not know me... But you should, honestly, I've been in the guild for longer than anyone (Except Skellie, but that was his other account, but hey, he's te leader, so he gets the props)
Anyway, thats not what I'm here to talk about. I love pokemon. I'm sure a good portion of you do as well. Well, I've been thinking, how can Nintendo make the Pokemon series even better? New regions? New Pokemon? NO! What they need to do is create something I call Project Pokemon World. Ok, here's the rub, All the lands of Pokemon, Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Orre, and all the crazy vast amounts of islands in one world. Yeah, I know that sounds like alot, but with technology these days, thats not even hard to do. Well, sound good? Hell its gets better! Lets not make it a single player game, not even a multiplayer, I want this s**t worldwide! Yeah, you heard me, worldwide! I know what your thinking, we already have worldwide, well, yeah, we do but not exactly what I'm thinking of... I want an MMO! Yeah, you heard me! A pokemon MMO!!!! I know I'm not the first one to think this up, but I think its just too cool of an idea to let die!
So, I'm still a bit fuzzy on the exact details of the game, like what it would be like, so people, give ideas, thoughts, other things, Also, I'm gonna be chaning the poll every once in a while, so be sure to stop by again and discuss it!
oh, by the way, ayone who reads this whole this, I salute you.

Ok, to get things started, I'll say my couple of ideas, -You start out in any region you want to, none of them would be better than the others, just different starters. (Personally, I'd start in either Hoenn or Johto) -You can join any of the criminal teams, or make teams of your own, they don't have to be criminals, though (Guilds basically, I guess) -Missions based on how you play the game -Pvp, of course, the Pokemon Leage Competition done up like the anime version, a tournament. -wild pokemon, of course -A truely expansive world, non of these 5 building cities anymore. The cities would also have different things, like shops and restaurants -The shops would be clothes shops, hair shops, pokemarts, pokecenters (still free), other shops depending on the city -Festivals and other cool stuff depending on the region -the players would be trainers that are fully customizable. I'm thinking a customizationsystem similar to Soul Caliber III. -Cameos and roles for the older pokemon characters, like Gym leaders, Elite four trainers, those people (maybe even people from the anime?) -More little cities, not just the ones featured in the games
Hmm... well... I think thats all I have for right now, please people, be creative, suggest ideas!

That'd sure be a good diea, but imagine the implications of this project. A full MMORPG! As expensive as Pokémon? That'd be expensive. A lot. Like, really. It's not about to be done I think.
But that'd still be awesome! You should be able to cross breed some Pokemons to have ones you can't just catch! And you should be able to become a Gym Leader.

It's not about to be done I think. But that'd still be awesome! You should be able to cross breed some Pokemons to have ones you can't just catch! And you should be able to become a Gym Leader. It's not to say that it's impossible though. Hell, look at World of Warcraft and all the crap that they pack into that game and it's still technically last generation technology. With the technology available to video game companies, it could be done, since it's not like the game would be that different looking from what Pokemon Battle Revolution is like in terms of graphical power. But the thing also is that you can't really have everyone having the ability to become a Gym Leader since that sort of thing would be just one person and that could lead to people arguing. Stuff like that needs to be left with NPC characters, but being able to train in that gym could be possible. Kinda like how there are those trainers within the gym that you fight along with the Leader. And even yet, there could be an expansive weather/time system, maybe even a season system. If you really think of all the things that you could do with that game, it's really interesting. Though there would need to be some cash shop elements to it just to rack in some money to keep it up and to update it, it could just be simple things like being able to buy things cheaper with real money or special clothing items. Nothing to make the game unfair. Oh, and another idea (I'm nerding out again!), you can have those secret bases or an underground (all sorts of goodies) and you can decorate them and they could use cash shop too. I'll be thinking of ideas for this and just keep posting them.

You know that PokemonCrater game I was talking about, (What, a year ago?) That would be your skeleton.
That game suddenly vanished for some reason... ninja I bombed it, heheh. But, yeah, I'd love to see something like that come out.

It's kinda weird how I thought of this, but I was just looking at the poll and I wasn't sure if that Pokemon Ranger place was there...(it IS a different region, right? I don't own the game) and that led to me thinking about...well, Pokemon Rangers, and THAT made me think about job classes (like in MapleStory and Final Fantasy...'cept in the latter you can't really choose for yourself most of the time), so I was thinking that could be really cool. Like, you'd have just the basic trainer, but if you wanted to be like a Swimmer trainer or Bug trainer, etc., you could choose to train only certain Pokemon sometime during the game. They'd have enhanced traits over the basic trainers, but they only get to train Pokemon of that certain type. (Like, a Swimmer would only have Water-related Pokemon, and basic trainers can have anything, but the Swimmer's Pokemon will be stronger than normal, as not to give the basic trainer an unfair advantage.) Also, later in the game, you could choose whether you allied yourself with a Team or not (as DonCacti mentioned earlier), and it would work in a similar way. I know there are some flaws in this idea, but it's what I was thinking. In a nutshell: Job Classes.

Well, as Don and I have discussed, you can pretty much make your trainer look how they want to, similiar to how PBR allows you to customize your trainer. However, you could be able to join things like Team Rocket or the like. But, like the regular Pokemon games, you can train what you want to train and all. This game would pretty much be like playing the Pokemon anime in a sense, to capture the feel of the Pokemon world. But the idea is a good one, but I just feel that it's restricting when you can just have a "do-whatever" kind of feel.

Yeah, I agree there, the whole essence of the game would be the wicked pokemon world, but with a free-form style of playing. Though, being on one of the teams would be pretty freaking sweet! Though, I was thinking, the teams and other stuff would only be for the mission stuff, I don't think I'd put on a pokemon stealing system, like, no snag machine.

Yeah, because the Snag Ball would make little kids cry... And then go on gun rampages at school. So nothing like that. But you could get access to some wicked outfits and such, like the Team Rocket uniform. But I just had a question, what about Legendaries? Would they be exclusive to just one person, or will there be a bunch of them? They would probably need to be difficult to discover and actually hard to battle unlike the other Pokemon games. But if you were to make them faint in battle or come too close to doing that, they could probably run or something. Because fainting doesn't mean death....
