Welcome to the almighty Poetry Contest! This is the continuation of the last contest I held (even though it was a really long time ago). If you are looking for the previous contest to retrieve your entry, or review the winners, the old contest can be found here. Check out my Profile!Deadline:May 10th (One week) -More specifially, 12:00 pm Eastern Daylight Savings Time Zone- The winners should be announced within a couple of hours, if not instantaneously.Prizes:1st Place: 1000 gold 2nd Place: 500 gold--Note: I do not have the funds for it as of yet, but fear not! If funds are not present at that time, then I will sell one of my items; because I care that much. ;3
--Note: Funds have been attained! You can rest easy now. x]
--Note: Please include which theme you chose in the post and/or pm that you post your poem in. I want to know what I'm reading razz Entry Fee:0 gold. As in free.Rules:All pieces must be entirely original (In other words, plagiarism is illegal).
You may submit a poem that was previously entered in another contest, unless that piece won (It would be unfair to the other contestants if there was a poem submitted that was proven to win another contest). And it has to fit the outline!
Keep the poetry within the pg13 boundaries (If your little sister couldn’t read it without suffering permanent trauma, then it isn’t allowed)
Post your entry here as well as sending me a copy via PM. If you make any alterations to your poem, send me the revised entry and I will accept it provided the contest has not ended. Entry might be missed if you don't pm them to me
Do not flame, degrade, or talk rudely of another contestants entry.
On occasion I might include a required word in the outline that must be in the poem. Those are the basic rules for the contest. Here is the outline for this specific Contest:Outline:Poem has to be between 4 and 40 lines.
Absolutely no swearing.
There is no necessity for a rhyming scheme or meter.
Optional themes for your poem this week:
+ Color(s) + Reason(s) + Ribbon(s) + Memory/ies

Red
Red—A color. A symbol. A warning. Stop. Caution. Be wary. For there is a deviant in our midst.
Red—Blood. Death. Anarchy. Bred of nonconformity. Raise hands out to Hitler, and bring fists down on Liberty.
Chains of ‘power in unity’ claim to hold up the great Lady…but rather, pin her down in submission. Beat her, whip her, but She is never ruined.
Her ghost is an ever-present fear haunting the voided hearts of the stigmatized elite. They don’t bleed red, for they are never cut, never touched, just feared—but in turn controlled by fear themselves.
They will their blood to clot. They show no sticky red. They hide it for ‘the greater good’… THEIR greater good, not ever ours.
Red—A label. A letter. A badge. They conceal it in their heartless voids, and cry, “Conform! Conform! Conform!” to the nations, while fear causes chaos.
For as they shun and abuse the Lady, she bleeds red rivers where masses bathe. All stare in wide-eyed realization at dear, prone Lady Liberty.
A martyr proudly marked scarlet. Feared by the once conceited elite, but now raised high in glory as shrouded thoughts of independence reign. Red—A hope. A future. A sunrise.
***Here's my entry. If there's anything else I need to do/fix let me know. Thanks! =D

The Questionable
Love Is it real? Or is it just a wondrous dream Created by the minds of those Who have no better way to pass the time?
Time. Is it truly as short as we say? Or do we live on in the memories left behind Of all that we have said and done?
Hate. Is it as raw an emotion as it seems? Or is it more of a raging fire, Uncontrollably burning everything in sight?
Life. Is it so mysterious? Or did we find the missing piece and kick it aside like trash?
Sorrow. Is there a way to stop it? Or will it freeze our souls, And harden our hearts until we no longer care?
Questions. Are there answers to any of them? Or must we continue to live our lives in ignorance, And act as the puppets that so many of us are?
Someday, my strings will be cut and I'll be out of this farce called society: free to soar above the clouds that obscure our lives.

1. When I awoke this morning, clean air and an azure sky greeted me I saw the world covered in thin layers of ice
the sun above casting its light away onto the thousand mirrors below, refracting, prisms shattered
over the snow, which, scattered with icy jewels, fell to the trees, fronds bent as though in a winter’s hurricane
the world has turned silver and blue the trees are bent in lamentation silent, rainbow lamentation
(Theme: color. I had a couple of poems that might have worked, but I decided on this one.)
