Okay...this is a little off the ShikaNeji topic, though it deals with Neji...and is completely random and inspired by me spending $30 at Bath and Body works on nothing but body washes, lotions, and sprays. (God..I have NO self-control... xp )
Question: What kind of shampoo do you think Neji uses for his hair?
I mean, do ya think he uses just generic, cheap-o shampoo or really expensive stuff? It's funny how shampoo can be really cheap ( like $2-4 dollars/bottle up to $30 + per bottle) or really expensive. So...where does Neji fall into haircare/grooming?

Yeah...just realized...I didn't post my thoughts on it..and since I asked first, I feel I should answer first.
Personally, I think Neji would fall onto the rather expensive side. I think his hair is naturally thick and gorgeous, but I also think it's something he'd take pride in and would wanna take care of. So I can see him indulging in a nicely-scented, some-what expensive shampoo and conditioner. I can't see him being totally high-maintenance, but I do think he'd pamper himself just a tiny bit.
I can also see him enjoying scented bath stuff, like bodywash/ lotion/body butter, etc, etc. Again, just too pamper and indulge himself a lil big after a hard day's mission/ training. I mean, he IS a Hyuga afterall, even if he's only from the second branch. He's still an aristocrat so...yeah...and, damn it, he's pretty.
So I can picture him going into Bath and Body works and dragging poor Shika in with him, who, of course, would do nothing but complain.
...and, on a similiar note, does anyone think Neji would like candles?

I think Neji would use nice-quality, pricey stuff because he's a Hyuuga and it's a) expected that he'd look perfect, and b) what the Hyuugas would buy and have on hand. ^^;
But if he were living on his own? I think that he'd spend the money to buy something that's solid, of good quality, but nothing super fancy or nicely scented or any of that girly stuff. XD He's too practical, and he's a ninja-- on any given mission, it's not going to be very useful to smell flowery. ^^; Plus, in the anime and manga both, he doesn't have particularly glossy or voluminous hair (well, duh, it's shounen XD), just long and nice, so I don't think he goes all-out on what different haircare products claim to provide. XD
($30 at Bath & Body?! OMG. @_@;;; I just go to the local supermarket and grab whatever is cheap and smells like green apples. XD)
As for candles... mmm... well, this is what I picture:
Hinata: *lights a room of candles*
Neji: *smells the burning and walks in* ... Hinata-sama, what are you doing?
Hi: Oh! Neji-niisan... um... I just thought it would be calming to relax with some candlelight.
Ne: You do realize that is a fire hazard?
Hi: *blush* W-w-well, yes, but...
Ne: And if you were to 'relax' to the point that you fell asleep? What if a candle fell over, or the flames caught on something?
Hi: They won't do that, nii-san! They're sp-spaced out, and, um...
Ne: Accidents happen. You are the heiress; you should be more careful.
Hi: But aren't they nice?
Ne: It's just fire.
Hi: They're nice and warm...
Ne: And can quickly become overwhelmingly hot.
Hi: They create a nice atmosphere.
Ne: *drily* With Naruto?
Hi: *goes bright red* Ah-- n-no, I mean--!
Ne: *sighs* Hinata-sama, really, y--
Hi: *blurts out* W-well, what about Nara-san?
Ne: ... *raises eyebrow* What about him?
Hi: I-I-- I mean, he has that dark hair and those dark eyes... I'm sure they'd reflect the candlelight beautifully...
Ne: He's a man, and a ninja. He has no use for being 'beautiful', as you put it.
Hi: O-or... picture sitting back after a long, hard mission, tired and strained, and just lying back in a dark room, lit only by candles...
Ne: What-- *images flood his mind of what else he could be doing in the dark, with Shikamaru, lit only by candles* ..............
Hi: *nervous in the silence* N-- Neji-niisan?
Ne: ... *coughs* W-well... ah... I believe I'll be departing for a mission now, Hinata-sama.
Hi: Oh... okay. Take care, Neji-niisan.
Ne: Thank you. And by the way...
Hi: Yes?
Ne: ... Where did you get those candles? Especially the freesia-scented ones.
Hi: *smiles*

I think Neji would use some nice quality products, but he wouldn't use any styling aids. Like, using leave-in conditioner at the most. (I'd say he'd use the Paul Mitchell brand, but only since it has my favorite leave-in conditioner.)
...And I think Shikamaru would use pineapple scented shampoo. rofl

XD I think Shikamaru would try to AVOID using pineapple-scented shampoo, but people (*cough*Yoshino*cough*Neji*cough*Ino*cough*Temari*cough*) would keep buying it for him.

Yeah, I can't see Neji using anything other than shampoo and conditioner, Sanee. I mean, I don't see him using mouse, hairspray, styling gel, etc etc...he ain't a high-maintenance beoch. Even though he gots the attitude of one. ^.~
And Shika with pineapple shampoo...LOL that's awesome. And I could SOO see other peops buying it for him. *snerks*
The skit was funny...I just kinda glossed over the NaruHina overtones- I dun mind Hina having a crush on Naru...but I just dun like 'em together.
Hehe...Neji smelling flowery...*squeals* OKay...maybe only on special, mission-free occassions. Or on missions when he has to cross-dress! mrgreen
Green apples? Yummy! I'm, unfortunately, horribly addicted to Bath and Body works scents..I tend to go overboard...>.<

^^; I had a couple of friends comment somewhat recently to me that I always smell so nice. Since I can't smell myself, I was like, "WTF?" XD It couldn't be the bodywash, since I buy whatever is cheap and available for that so it changes... ^^; But apparently it's the green apple shampoo and separate green apple conditioner. XD
^^; NaruHina's not everyone's cup o' sake, I'm cool with that. :3
Hm... I kinda like thinking of Shikamaru as smelling more like spring. XD Some pretentious shampoo scent that claims to be the essence of spring-- grass, leaves, fresh foliage and the like. It feels more like him than pineapple would. ^^;

Hehe...yeah, smelling yourself might give off the wrong impression, like checking to see if ya remembered deoderant. ^.~
But Shika with the hair...nyaahhh...who could resist buying the pineapple-head pineapple shampoo? He might not like the smell, but the symbolism...*snerks*

I agreee with the fact that Shika would prefer a more "clean" scent, like "ocean" or "spring" scented shampoos and soaps, etc. I really just ganked the idea of pineapple shampoo from Brevity Of Wit's Exiled (which is one of my all time favorite stories, by the way.)
I really don't understand how we always end up talking about Shikamaru in a thread dedicated to Neji. And vice versa. @___@

Yeah, I think Shika would prefer a clean, subtle scent; I dun think he'd ever willingly buy pineapple shampoo...but somebody else buying it for him, as a gag...I mean, who could resist? Granted, whether or not he'd use it is the question...
And we always end up talking about the other in the threads cuz..cuz they're like milk and oreo cookies! Ya can't have one without the other. I mean, a glass of ice cold milk goes sooo much better with an oreo cookie...and when your eating oreos dry...ya want a glass of milk.
'tis the same principle with Shika and Neji. When ya gots Neji, ya want Shika with him, too...and when ya gots Shika, your mind instantly puts Neji with 'im. 'Tis just all part of being a ShikaNeji fan. 'Tis just the way our mind works. mrgreen
And now, dang it, I *really* want some oreos and milk...

Hm, that is a good analogy though.
On a side note, I was craving Oreos liek woah last week. But I never got them.
Sure, I have some tashteh lemon sandwich cookies that I made myself, but they're not chocolaty and filled the perservatives I've come to love! crying
(But I digress.)
SN: I actually re-read the story over again. Although it's a bit tame in retrospect, it still make me smile whenever I read it.
Oh, and I meant to reference Oblivious, not Exiled.
(The shampoo scene was right before the one where Shika walks out into the main room and glomps on Hiashi, mistaking him for Neji. Priceless!)

Zomg! I gotta read that fic where Shika walks and glomps Hiashi. OMG! I can just SOO picture the awkard hilarity of the moment.
And on a completely random note, I had oreos for breakfast today. And I had milk with them. mrgreen (Yeah, and I wonder why my diets never work...yesh, I'm being sarcastic here..)

There's also plenty of cute Shikaku/Yoshino moments as well. Like, Yoshino yelling at Shikaku so loudly that Gaara and Kakurou could hear it. xD
