The very first prom event on Gaia will be coming soon! Are you going to attend? What attire do you plan on wearing? Do you think this will simply be a dance and festivities...or will there be chaos and weird trouble, as in most events on Gaia? Please discuss any and all pertaining to the Prom here! smile

I believe Eirwyn intends to go to the prom as she is now. She spends much time at the Truth About Timmy thread in the GCD, and they are certain the evil parasite from Timmy which escaped will attack during the event. They all intend to be armed and ready.
I hope Oscar returns in time for the prom.

I am looking forward to the prom, and I definitely plan on attending. I probably won't change my attire, although I did buy a new "skirt" (buddhist monk) which seems a little more appropriate than my previous brown peasant skirt.
I expect great things from the prom event. Since the Powers That Be essentially finessed Easter this year (a disappointment for this bunny lover) I hope this will be elaborate. With the number of high-school-age Gaians, I can see this becoming an annual event.
I hadn't thought of Timmy and the escaped parasite, but that makes sense. We also have the ongoing vampire thing. I may have to wear my purple support-Edmund orchid corsage. I will leave my defenseless stuffed friends at home--except for the dragon. She might be useful!
Maybe there will be a forum where we teds can start a thread like Sir Oscar did for Valentine's Day. I hope Sir Oscar makes it home in time!

We teds might support the conspiracists in their attempt to defend Gaia. They may have a thread as well.

I have returned, teds! smile Yes, we should have our own thread in the Prom forum, as we did at Valentine's. And I shall go and see these folk who reside in the Truth About Timmy thread in the GCD. 3nodding If there may be danger, we must be ready to defend!

Will keep a wary but vigilant eye out for alien mischief makers during the prom with you, Sir Oscar! I need to rummage around my attic for the appropriate attire and weapons. What would you suggest, my friend?

Labtech Gene did describe the thing as small, so I suspect it will be swift as well. Fortunately, guns are not allowed to our membership, for such a means of fighting a foe that is darting about in crowds of innocents would be useless. Some means of swatting the creature off its prey would be good I think, and then smash it once it hits the floor. 3nodding

Welcome home, Sir Oscar! It's good to have you back. I invited my friend the sprite to come and help spot toxic parasitic greeblies that might be lurking at the prom. I've brought my magnifying glass for spotting and my blade for swatting. See you boys in the Ballroom...

Since there is no part of the event in the forums, having a thread there is much less entertaining this time. sad

I agree, Eirwyn. I wish there had been a reason for people to go to the forums. Even if people just came to a thread with a "kiss me" request, it involved more interaction and activity among members than the Towns venues. There was no reason to go back to a place and see what was happening. Also, there are members who can't get into Towns and, so, weren't able to earn the prizes. I think that special events should have at least some elements that are accessible to people who have slow or cantankerous computers. We all worked really hard on our outfits, and they would have been viewed more widely in forum posts.
When all is said and done, though, I am delighted that they came out with this Celestial Gold dress that I am wearing. It's the first long skirt that feels truly medieval and shows my feet! blaugh

Gameplay did improve on Sunday. I think surely they worked on it, for Eirwyn was at last able to keep a streak running long enough to earn all items, and so also did Whatsit. She also earned the items for the mule of Carolina Gaia Guild. However, I know Oscar did not get the crown because when he played it was being bad, and another of Eirwyn's mules also had bad luck with lagging & glitching and only got the two bows. Eirwyn is actually rather good at this game, though she isn't particularly fond of it.
