So, how many people really saw this coming? Pretty nice blend of Ghosts, Year Zero and even With Teeth.

Once they got out of contract I knew things were going to get busy. This busy though??! From a band that comes out with remix "albums" instead of new stuff, I really think it's surprising, and also shows us what Trent et al. were up against creatively!
It you would have asked me last year about all this I would have said, "I wouldn't have been surprised if Trent was to release an album recorded years earlier that Nothing had vetoed."
I hear a lot of "Broken" in The Slip too.

I think most of this stuff is new, since there's a lot of Ghosts songs reappearing in the backgrounds here, but Letting You definitely sounds like a Year Zero b-side.
This is a really nice change for Trent and crew, but we know this won't be going on for too much longer. He's stated he'll be taking a longer amount of time away from music sooner or later, which is understandable. This is quite a hefty amount of work that's come out in the past few years.

I haven't had a chance to hear it yet...
I'll put it on my list of things I need to do on the rare occasion I get internet access! sweatdrop

Ah geez, I'm sorry to hear that. If it helps, they're shooting for a July release date for the physical versions of it, so that might be easier than downloading it somewhere.
I'm worried they might get pushed back, since there were some major problems with the Ghosts manufacturing, or at least the vinyls for it.

I went to the store expecting it to be between $10 or $15, but I guess it was $25. Sorry Trent, but I'm not spending that much when there are other things I could spend it on. I'll just pick it up next week since it should be safe until then haha sweatdrop
Our store had #38,??? and #39,??? which is neat, I guess. Really fat packages, though. Must be a lot of s**t in them.

I got my pre-ordered copy in the mail on the day of release (yesterday). . . which was pretty sweet! Put me in a good mood all day, and I couldn't wait to watch those videos. . . Then there was a power outage, so I just sat and listened on headphones. . . while reading the lyrics, like I did so many years ago with other NIN albums. I have learned the physical copy still means something!

It's a shame that seemingly so few people still appreciate a good physical album anymore. I'm happy that Trent cares about the quality of his physical releases now (because With Teeth's kind of sucked) so I have no problem with buying an album that's 100% free online.
The videos were great, but that's to be expected by Rob Sheridan. I could definitely see something like that being a music video, but there's no need for Trent to promote The Slip any more than it already is.

Reminds me of With Teeth a lot, for the most part. Really catchy and accessible songs, but with some Ghosts stuff thrown into the mix.
I still don't like Corona Radiata ...

Hahah that's fine, though. You might really like With Teeth, if you're interested in checking out anymore of their stuff. Also Ghosts I - IV, since The Slip has a lot of Ghosts material in it.

Hahaha, I forgot to answer that. I just don't think it fits in with The Slip very well, even though the transition between Lights in the Sky and Corona is perfect. I'm just not a fan of droning songs and now that I think about it, I'm not even sure I would like it if it was simply a Ghosts track.
I know how that is. Took me a few years to put together my NIN collection just because I didn't/don't always have $25+ to blow on another NIN release. Not to mention it becomes a pain to find some releases, since a lot of stores around here only stock the very latest albums.
