So, I dabble a bit with writing. Always have, since I was about seven years old. Right now, I'm trying to get into the swing of writing on a regular basis. I have a few stories of my own that I'm working on, but it's hard to just grind away at them. I need a distraction, preferably of a writing variety.
So, to any interested guild member, what I'm proposing is this: if you have an idea for a story that you wouldn't mind seeing someone else (i.e. me) write, post it here. I'll take a shot at writing it, and I'll post the result in either the guild forum here or at my fictionpress haunt. You will be credited for your idea in an author's note, dedication, or cameo (your choice which.)
Anyways, thanks for taking the time to read this, and feel free to post any ideas you'd like to see storied out.

Character ideas are also okay. I'll try to throw together a short story that fits them.

Well, I had two interesting short story ideas.
One involves a teen in the sand dunes who eventually gets eaten by a giant antlion
second involves a serial killer who stalks people on the internet then goes and kills them. opening scene, a chat room with some screen name ending in 12 and someone else. He then goes and kills the other person, setting the house on fire and escaping the police. the closing scene is like the first except a new victim, and his screen name is the same, but now ending with 13.

I dunno how good I'd be at writing either of those, but the second idea sent a chill down my spine. Great concept for a short thriller.
edit: holy crap. I actually wrote the second idea. It's ubershort, and it's in chat form, so I can't really post it up on ficpress. It's going here instead.
Thanks for the concept, Bio.

Here's my take on your story. It's called:
Your Wolf
(begin log, October 14th 12:37 PM)
Bakadarou: I know what you mean. Things like that give me the chills. Bakadarou: Typical campfire-story cliché, right? The call’s coming from your house! and all that. YourWolf12: still its scary to think about Bakadarou: Yeah. That must be why it shows up in so many movies. YourWolf12: fear of strangers is very basic very primal YourWolf12: every culture has it YourWolf12: movies are only one reflection of it Bakadarou: You sound like you’ve studied it… YourWolf12: yes Bakadarou: So, what does that make you, then? A horror writer? A psychologist? YourWolf12: a little bit of both Bakadarou: Written anything I know? YourWolf12: yes Bakadarou: … Bakadarou: … Bakadarou: …and it is? YourWolf12: this Bakadarou: lol Bakadarou: Seriously. Anything I might recognize? YourWolf12: no Bakadarou: Well, that’s disappointing. I thought you might be Mr. King or somebody like that. Should I call you Clive? Or Howard Phillip? YourWolf12: im no one you know Bakadarou: And how do you know that? Maybe we pass each other on the street sometimes, or we buy groceries at the same supermarket. Maybe you work at a McDonalds and I’ve used the drive-thu. YourWolf12: maybe Bakadarou: You saw my post on the message board. I know you have an interest in fiction. YourWolf12: no Bakadarou: orly? What are you interested in? YourWolf12: people Bakadarou: So you’re more of a psychologist, then. YourWolf12: yes Bakadarou: I realize that monosyllables are efficient and all, but we’re not playing twenty questions. When you replied to my post, you said you might have some advice. Something to get me over my writer’s block. YourWolf12: of course Bakadarou: That’s two syllables. We’re making progress. YourWolf12: why don’t you tell me more about your problem Bakadarou: Well, I don’t usually write horror, so it’s a little hard for me to scare the reader. I’m sure you understand that. There must have been a time when you weren’t as good at what you do as you are now. YourWolf12: about eleven ago Bakadarou: Years? You’ve been writing for a long time. YourWolf12: and ive gotten much better Bakadarou: Well, what’s your advice for a beginner, then? YourWolf12: fear Bakadarou: Fear what? YourWolf12: everything YourWolf12: let it all into you YourWolf12: and understand Bakadarou: Are you saying that I should try to switch places with the reader? No offense, but you’re getting kinda creepy. YourWolf12: yes Bakadarou: Uh, I’m gonna sign off now. YourWolf12: why Bakadarou: ‘cause you’re really weirding me out. YourWolf12: don’t go Bakadarou: Yeah. And I’m also blocking your SN. Thnxbai YourWolf12: do you feel a draft YourWolf12: you should close that window Bakadrou: What window? YourWolf12: the one downstairs Bakadarou: Do I know you? YourWolf12: what a keen insight phillip Bakadarou: How the hell do you know my name? YourWolf12: this call is coming from inside your house phillip YourWolf12: would you like to turn around?

Author's Note:
First off, a big thank you to Bio for putting his story idea on the chopping block like that. I dunno if I really did it justice, so he's more than welcome to write his own take on it sometime. Plus, I'm kinda curious how someone else would handle telling it.
Second of all, I usually don't do really short pieces or horror, and Your Wolf really didn't come out quite the way I wanted. Short thrillers should have a lot of punch in the last few lines. Every word should build tension and the conclusion should release it all at once. I kinda failed in that regards.
On the other hand, I did have fun writing it. I haven't been writing much lately, and it was very welcome practice.
If anyone else has any other ideas that they'd like to throw at me, go for it.

Very nice. My idea was a bit different though, but I like what you did with it. I'll write it up sometime and post it here if that's alright with you?

Oh, absolutely. I didn't dare to say 'you guys can post fiction too' earlier on because, for some reason, that tends to scare people off.
'sides, I'm curious how you'd tell the same story.
