So, evidently tomorrow is the first annual National Train Day. It's a celebration of the 139th anniversary of the golden spike being driven into the ground at Promontory Summit, Utah, uniting the two sides of the first trans-continental railroad in the United States. I thought it was hysterical when I first saw it on the news, but the history major in me feels that this event is far over-due. Train travel revolutionized the world and helped our country grow. So Happy National Train Day everyone! xd

Spoons: Have you ever ridden on a train, if so, do you like them? Do you think we should make this a national holiday with time off of school? Do you think this is overdoing things? Other train related things? xd

Yay! That's actually pretty awesome.... while I have been on a train once, unless you consider it's counter part the subway.... xp Anywho, I would but since I'm prone to motion sickness after a certain period of time I'm hesitant.... xp
I think it's a great thing to have and am quite surprised that there wasn't a day sooner.... I mean they waited 139 years? I can understand 100 maybe.... but it's long over due since it is something historical for our country... I will say this: Lionel should do this to commemorate this.

I can't remember if I rode on a train or not, maybe when I was younger. Trains are almost obsolete here in America, but in Japan, it's like their main transportation.

rofl. let me go molest some people xd Trains look like they'd be a lot of fun. We don't really have any trains around here (the Flagler line was the biggest we had in Florida, but years of facing large hurricanes ended that). I really want to ride a train up to New England (they're going to drive us around anyways, it doesn't make any sense to drive ourselves up there and waste time and money) one year when we go to visit Jeff's family.

Heard it from my friend, she apparently got 2 lapdances, 10 people randomly licked her, and she was dry humped twice. xD

.:: ::. I've seen trains all of my life, strangely enough.. I don't think I've ever ridden in one. Like, a real life train. Not the stupid Disney Monorail thing.
*sob*
Happy.. train day, indeed.
