i, myself, think that A fever you cant sweat out was over all the best. I LOVE Panic! At The Disco but Pretty. Odd was bad. i admit it, it sucked. seriously, when you look the the lyrics and really read them you can see that they are no good. i think they appeal more to the smaller children then the teens.

Look at the choirs lyrics for Nine in the Afternoon...
"Cause it's nine in the afternoon
And your eyes are the size of the moon
You could 'cause you can so you do
We're feeling so good
just the way that we do
When it's nine in the afternoon"

Now, compare them to The Only Difference Between Martyrdom And Suicide Is Press Coverage choirs lyrics.....
"Swear to shake it up, if you swear to listen
Oh, we're still so young, desperate for attention
I aim to be your eyes, trophy boys, trophy wives"

see? their first cd told a story for each song. the music was awesome. and they sounded good. yes it was kinds not like everyone else but thats what i loved!!
their second cd sounds like it came out of a children's story book. the music, the lyrics. i mean they kinda suck.

personally i don't think they did this. i think it was their manger who decided all this. cause i dont think they would make a cd that is so far from their first.

i really wanna know what you all think about it.

While I dont totally hate Pretty.Odd-- I also agree that I still prefer Fever over it. For most of the reasons that you specified.
I totally believe that they wrote this cd. Im pretty sure they love it too-- which is good for them, because theyre the ones that have to play it all the time.

If Panic does anything, they do it for themselves and by themselves. They actually love Pretty. Odd. more than Fever and it was entirely their decision to write the songs they did.

It sort of annoys me when people compare Pretty. Odd. to its predecessor. You couldn't have possibly expected them to just make another Fever, could you? How terribly boring would that be? There are too many bands out there who release dozens of albums which all sound exactly the same.

Panic has grown up, their tastes have changed, and you'll have to accept it, because they don't care how many fans they have. They write the music they love and they play it for whoever wants to listen.

Personally, I love both albums equally. : )

Haha, Syris is Panics biggest fan- they could shoot a puppy or small child and she would still worship them~

I dont know though, isnt there sort of a reason that their style is so different this time around? Or would you not count that as the explaination to such a complete 180?

Well, they're not teenagers anymore. There's a surprising difference between life at 16 and life in your early 20's. Especially when, at 16, they'd yet to have any life experiences. Since then, they've been around the world, done hundreds of live shows, not to mention played the same songs over and over and over again. How could you possibly go and write similar music to that of what you're sick of playing? They needed a change. Their taste in music changed entirely too since then. Their whole switch to early rock music was due to the fact that they couldn't find any new bands that were doing anything original, so they looked back to their roots and were inspired by that.

Didnt they say that they wanted something that was easy to play? That should have been their first sign that they were doing something 'wrong'. They arent the first people to do tours like that, and those people didnt change their music styles so drastically.

Even you noticed the difference in the crowd from when they played their new stuff to their old. I REALLY hope that they noticed too-- not that they care what their fans think, just as long as they're doing something they like doing, that they can be proud of...
