Echo had been wandering around for some time now. Weaving in and out of the trees with no set destination. She really had nothing on her mind, she really had no need to think of something on her own. She always felt better when there was someone else around that she could simply mimic. It made life less draining. At least it was a nice day, or so it seemed. She sighed lightly and kept her head down low as she walked.

Prince was perched on a nice, thick branch, as he had been for most of the day. He hadn't had much else to do than to sit there and snack on some bright red berries he'd found. He also wasn't paying too much attention to his surroundings, but when something in varying shades of gray passed him by, it was difficult not to turn and look.
His bright violet eyes rested on the female's dreary figure, and he frowned when he heard a sigh escape her lips. He hadn't wanted to bother her originally, but he couldn't stand to see someone so miserable. Gathering his berries, he made his way over to the nearby lemur and padded beside her with a smile.
"Hi there," he said with a bright smile, offering a pawful of berries, "want some? They're really sweet."

Echo gasped lightly in surprise. She hadn't heard the other Tokoro approaching and she hadn't been paying attention to the treetops. She really had though she had been all alone until he was padding along beside her. She look up into his eyes. At first she seemed to be sad, but after a second she smiled lightly. Her soft pink eyes brightened just a bit.
"Want some?" She repeated. She was never good with first words, they would always be a repeat of something the person she was talking to had said first. After that she nodded her head only once.

"Do I want some?" Prince grinned. "Actually, I've already had plenty. You seemed a little down, and I wanted to cheer you up." His smile softened. "Help yourself to these berries, though, if you want some." Her actions were not very clear or decisive, at least not as far as he could tell, but perhaps he'd learn to read them soon enough.
"By the way, my name is Prince -- what's yours?"

Echo smiled lightly, plucking one of the berries out of his hand and into her mouth. She laughed lightly after words, hoping not to confuse him. She really wasn't much of a talker. She smiled brighter, hoping not to turn him away. She was naturally shy though, so her voice was quiet when she spoke again.
"I wanted to cheer you up. Echo." She said, nodding her head a bit. She looked away after that, to skittish to really say anything else.

Echo? Was that her name, or what she was doing? Because he was certainly being mimicked quite a bit. He wrinkled his nose, pondering. Perhaps she was just a little... odd. She did seem kind of awkward during the entire conversation. He decided to continue normally, and perhaps she would open up later. Besides, her echoing him was kind of cute, and definitely intriguing.
"So, Echo, what's got you so down? I like seeing that pretty smile of yours." His tail flickered as he walked alongside her, still smiling sincerely, with his arms still offering the berries.

Echo glanced back up at him as he spoke. She found it odd that he was still talking to her normally. By now most people just looked at her like she was an idiot. She was far from stupid, she was bright if you could get her to stop mimicking you. She shook her head lightly, gesturing toward the berries. She really wasn't that hungry, but she thought it would have been polite to take at least one before.
"Well, I like seeing that pretty smile of yours!" She said, adding one of her own words. Making sure he knew that she wasn't just mimicking him, but also complimenting him like he had done for her. "N-nothing..." She said, finally managing to answer his question. "Why...?" She said, slowly, trying to make the words sound more natual to her, but it was rare for her to speak without some kind of guide.

"So, you're sad for no reason?" At this, Prince's brow furrowed. That couldn't be, could it? "Why? Well, because I'm concerned, and I'd like for you to be happy. That's why." He smiled softly at her. "Is there anything I can do to help?"
Noting her gesture, he tossed the berries aside.

Echo smiled and nodded her head, "Sad for no reason." She repeated as if it didn't really bother her to be sad all the time. She just really had nothing happy to think about, not that she had anything terrible to think about either. The only way to really explain it would just to say she's odd. She though about something for a second, wondering if there really was anything anyone could do to help.
"I think...It would just be nice..." She stopped for a second, wondering how to put her words together. "To have a friend." She finished, nodding her head with a small smile on her face.

Aww. This poor lemur was friendless. Prince frowned with genuine concern for Echo.
"How sad. I'd be more than happy to be your friend!" He smiled softly, spreading his arms wide in a friendly gesture. "How about a hug?"

Echo blinked as he offered to be her friend. She really had no idea what to say to that. She'd never had a friend before and really didn't know what it would be like. However, he was the first person to not run away from her. "Hug!" She said, nodding her head and then hugging him lightly.

Prince laughed. Echo was really cute, the way she acted. He gave her a gentle squeeze, then let her go. "So, friend, what would you like to do now? We could explore, or rest, or find something to eat, or... well, I can't think of anything after that."

"Like to do..." Echo said, just lightly repeating him as she ran though the thoughts in her head. "Explore, or rest, or find something to eat..." She said, just barely repeating him. "I think...exploring is find..." She said, her cheeks turning pink. She always got a bit embarrassed with her quiet, timid voice.

"Alright then, exploring it is! Let's go!" Taking her paw in his, he led her in a random direction, padding quietly over the lush rainforest foliage. "Let me know if you see anything exciting, Echo, and we'll stop and check it out."
"Like this!" As he walked along, he stopped at a short plant with lovely, bright pink cuplike flowers. Plucking one from the ground, he turned and gently tucked the blossom into her hair, so that it rested cutely between her ear and tuft of hair. Smiling sweetly at her, he continued on.

Echo nodded her head and glanced around, a few things caught her attention, but she didn't really see anything too interesting until Prince pointed out the pink flower. She blushed as he picked it up, and put it behind her ear. She wasn't used to things like that happening.
"T-thanks...Prince!" She said, smiling brightly and trotting to catch up with him.
