This thread is for all PCs except Dean's character (I will post a thread for him later, and if he doesn't check it I can cover his stuff when we all get back to school)
Some notes for people new to roleplaying boards.
Reply by describing the actions your character takes, and if your character says anything make sure to put the words in quotation marks. If you need to say something that is not in character, such as a rules question, place "OOC:" before your text. I will be making any dice rolls needed, so put your modifiers when you decide to make skill checks (there really should be no combat, unless you guys are dumbasses razz )
Example
Kanei Po lunges forward, rapier and shortsword drawn, and strikes the construct with the pointed tip of his rapier!
Should he hit and do damage, Kanei Po will shout out "Ha! Serves you right!"
Attack +5
Damage (if hit): 1d6+2
(If Kanei gets a critical threat, he gets +4 to confirm thanks to the power critical feat)
OOC: What the heck, is that Warforged on crack? lol
BEGINING DM NARRATION
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Date: Zarantyr 13, 998 YK
Location: Central Plateau, Sharn
(Essentially, the date translates to December 13th, 998 years after the original kingdom of Galifar was founded. Though bear in mind that months in Eberron are all 28 days long.)
After finishing your discussion with Elaydren, you all find yourself in Sharn. Despite the slowly but steadily cooling climate, the city remains as vibrant and busy as ever. In the Central Plateau many fairly financially well-off creatures can be seen, largely humans, elves, and a few gnomes and halflings. However you can also easily spot half-orcs, shifters, warforged, goblinoids. Other interesting persons traveling about include what you think might be a Kalashtar, and some sort of planetouched creature. A hooded creature what seems to be a few...snakes...poking out from under the hood also appears to be heading towards a shop with an impressive-looking magical sword, sheathed and carried in both hands, presumably to sell.
And now you all need to consider what you wish to do in the City of Towers. Lady Elaydren and Imicus are working on researching the location of the next piece of the Schema and considering how they might curtail a favor from the Baron Merrix d'Cannith of House Cannith, the leader of an entirely seperate faction of House Cannith, now seperated into three distinct fragments. How long this will take them will likely at least range in the months, and that raises another problem.
The finger of Mingan, the shifter Ranger who died in the cave complex between the Eldeen Reaches and Demon Wastes, will need some way of preservation. Makeshift preservation efforts of salt and ice have kept it in reasonably good shape, but you believe that some more permanent form of preservation will be needed to shield it from the ravages of decay. Barring that, it might be possible to remove the flesh from the finger entirely and preserve the bone. The morbid task of body part preservation will need to be seen to by the party in some way.
The Warforged known as Scholar has expressed interest in meeting Daizengar and Relic. Scholar was known by Elaydren to be part of a new movement of warforged called the Warforged Enlightenment, but she did not know much more about that. She relayed the message from Scholar requesting that Daizengar and Relic attend their meeting/celebration of their first month anniversary of founding, which is taking place on Zarantyr 20 at their headquarters in the Middle Menthis district of Sharn. She also added that they were welcome to drop in any time before the date if they had questions (or send a message via the Sivis message stations), and that any companions of theirs, Warforged or not, are more than welcome to attend.
Hearing that the Warforged Enlightenment's meeting was on the 20th of Zarantyr reminded Thalian of something: Zarantyr is the month associated with the Mark of Storm! A Lyrandar noble is hosting a Lyrandar party on the 21st at his manor in Skyway, and Thalian is allowed to attend and bring one guest if he so desires.
Of potential interest to Libertas and Ignari is the meeting of the Sharn council on the 15th of Zarantyr. Normally off-limits to those not of the nobility, Libertas' connections will allow him permission to attend, and even address the council if so desired (though that particular favor can't be overused).
The artificer Will is on the breakthrough of something big in any artificer's life: the ability to craft a homunculus (OOC: I'm assuming you are keeping your level at three until you expend your craft reserve, otherwise you would already have craft homunculus). Among the homunculi are the dedicated wrights, a class of homunculi that are capable of carrying on their master's magic item crafting work while their master is busy with just some simple instructions. Will is also well-known among the artificers for his startlingly development in his artificer ability and knowledge, and Will thinks that soon there may be people willing to work and learn for and from him. His dream of owning a magic item shop is closer than ever before!
Though it is primarily on Will's mind, the question of property in Sharn is likely on the minds of many. Having a place to call their own after spending so much time in Inns is likely on several of the players minds, especially with the startling amount of coin they have been earning recently! The prospect of having a nice place to set up shop and have his future dedicated wright work is of significant appeal to Will at least, who will otherwise have to rent a magical workshop for such as task. Of course, the newest members of the party have also yet to earn the trust of the group, so the heroes may wish to purchase property separate from the new additions and allow them to pay a one time fee to live with them if they prove trustworthy. Or they may all wish to rent separate homes. Or wait until they can (hopefully) each afford their own property.
(For those who want to know about property prices in Sharn, they generally get more expensive the higher you are. Higher districts tend to have wealthier people as such, and the lower parts of Sharn tend to be more and more progressively slummy and cheap. The lowest parts of Sharn are known as the Cogs, which are largely abandoned, subterranean ruins with who knows what living in them. The Forgotten Forge took you guys to an ancient Cannith forge deep in the Cogs).
OOC: Phew, great walls of text! Of course this is an introductory posts, most of the updates after this will be significantly shorter. Basically, this is an interlude between more action-oriented sessions where you guys do what you want and meet NPCs, participate in events, craft magic items, etc.
