Whazzit (What is it?):

It's starts as an egg. So what you see first is that, an egg.
- After some time, usually a week, the egg hatches.
- The second stage pops out and rolls around for a bit until it grows.
- The third stage is a snake/dragon.
- The growth from snake to final can take up to a month, or as little as two weeks.

See? Your critter isn't much bigger then your waist, so it can go everywhere with you if you so choose.
