Band recruitments. Oh God.

Parker breathed in as he pryed open the garage door, at the same time trying to balance his drumsticks between his chin and his chest. He knew moving into the new city would be a nightmare, as well as the fact that he left so many important memories behind: his previous girlfriend, all his friends, his school, the old smell of the nearby amusement park, and most importantly, his old band. He couldn't imagine starting over and trying to rebuild a new life. But of course, he had to make the best of things seeing as there was nothing better to do...

...And of course, he would have to start off with a new band.

After taping flyers about the auditions on nearly every lampost in the town, he still wasn't even sure if people would come. It probably even wasn't worth a shot, but since it was an excuse to stay away from chores, it would have to do.

The young poneko sat himself down in front of the old drum set that he had grown to love, and stared idly out the garage.

Felicia had been walking around town alone with her stuffed plush toy, Cream. She hadn't really noticed the stuff on the lamp posts since she was just oblivious to the stuff around her. She walked down on the nice day and noticed a new poneko in town. She didn't know if she should approach his garage. But she saw the drum set that sat in front of him. It seemed to intrigue her. Her curiosity made her walk towards this male and his drum set.

"Hi." She said softly with the stuffed plush toy in her arms.

After hearing someone approach him and picking at a scab on his arm, Parker looked up. Someone came? Someone did come, amazingly. Joy.

"Hey," he greeted casually, noticing the young poneko who was about his age. He got up from his stool and slid his drumsticks behind his ears as he turned to greet her. He was no good at introducing himself, since it was a habit of his to stumble over words and such, so he had to focus on trying to pronounce everything corctly, er... correctly.

Side by side, he appeared much taller than Felicia. Curse his growth spurt. It made him feel abnormal, and "freakish." As he tried to shake the thought out of his head, he stuck out his hand and smiled warmly down at the girl.

"I'm Parker," he nodded. "Did you come to audition?"

Felicia tilted her head up towards this male. she was fairly short compared to the other poneko kids so she had to look up at this male or she'd not be looking in his eyes. "I're Felicia. Nice to meet you Parker!" She said with a smile. "Wait, Audition? What audition?" She asked. Once more, she hadn't really paid attention to the posters, so she wouldn't have known about the audition that was taking place.

She wasn't really good at anything except maybe just sleeping, video games and artsy stuff such as sewing, and knitting. She would've sounded like an old woman if she said she could knit.

"Nice to meet you too," he smiled. He couldn't remember the first time he actually greeted himself properly without tripping over his own words.

Parker frowned as he felt his heart drop. She didn't even come to audition? What a way to bring his hopes up, even for a little while. She was probably just around the neighborhood and saw him. This offically proved that his flyers were just a waste of ink and trees; he could just imagine all his flyers torn down by the wind and flying across the streets.

"Yeah, audition," he tried to explain. "It's for a band-thing, y'know? Do you play any instruments? Or sing?"

He knew that his attempts were hopeless. No one would agree to such a commitment with a freak like himself.

"hm... a band huh? Sounds cool! I haven't really tried any instrument or singing much." She said a little shy towards him. She didn't really feel comfortable talking to Parker, unlike with Fleance, one of her really close guy friends. She wanted to run away back to the safety of her home but she didn't want to make him feel bad. She tilted her head down as she had disappointed Parker.

She snuggled her Himalayan breed cat plush toy, Cream, up towards her face, trying to hide her fear from him.

"You should try it out sometime, then," Parker suggested, trying to sound encouraging. "It gets addictive once you start."

He took his paw and ruffled the young poneko's brunette hair as he sat himself down on a nearby cardboard box. He noticed her hiding behind her stuffed toy, so he tried to smile, although it was somewhat obvious that he was forcing it.

"Is anything wrong?" he asked, putting a hand on her shoulder, attempting to seem comforting. He wasn't any good at warming up to people.

Felicia felt a bit as she was being looked downward by the ruffling of her hair, but also, reassuring that Parker cared for her well-being. she gave a small smile behind the medium-long fur of Cream. She noticed him smile softly but that just made her more flustered than before.

She could feel the warm greyish-blue paw upon her shoulder as his melodic voice spoke to her. She shook her head quickly, "No, nothing's the matter." She said rapidly. She didn't like such close contact with someone she had just met but it felt warming and... safe. Though that might not be the same if her dad and mom saw this.

"If you're so sure," Parker smiled, taking his paw off her shoulder.

He felt awkward in the still silence for awhile. He couldn't rummage out anything else to say inside his brain, which was often common during his conversations. He flipped his purple bangs back behind his head and slouched over to rest his arms on his legs.

"So," he began, "if you want, I could give you free lessons on drumming. Or if you wanna try something else, I could hook you up with another tutor."

He quickly wished he could take back what he said. Tutor? Hook her up? How could he possibly teach someone to play the drums when he couldn't even take care of his pet tarantula? He didn't even know anyone in the new city, so how could he find someone to teach her how to play something?

Felicia looked up at Parker and shook her head. "No, i don't want to bother you. And i'll probably be bad at it." She said a bit fidgety. "but, could you play me something?" She asked, looking straight at his eyes. She gave a reassuring smile to let him know it really was okay.

She didn't want to just ditch him and his band, 'cause well, there wasn't anyone else here. The least she could've done was sit for a little and listen and try to help ths fellow out, right?
