Upon Shade's initial arrival into the lands her heart was festering with hatred for the two-leggers. They had killed almost all of her kind when they were at their weakest, only a few had escaped the surprise slaughter and they had scattered to the four winds for a small amount of time until Shade had come to these new lands.

As she studied the Cimarron lands she learned quickly that there was a sever lack of truly vile and evil creatures.

Strangely, she initially lived with a human and her two mares, upon her small time there she grew even more hateful of the two-leggers. How dare they try to tame horses of any kind?! Even those of lesser breeds.

Yet Shade never made a scene she lived quietly earning their trust while she waited for an acquaintance strong enough to help her destroy the humans once and for all.e her hatred was festering boiling within her body like a corrosive acid.

After what felt like an eternity Shade meet a black and purple stallion while out hunting, little to her knowledge, their acquaintance would grow into a mutual fondness that would end up in a mating and children. The stallion hadn't seemed afraid of her at the beginning and that in itself had drawn Shade's attention to him, and of course the acidic qualities of his mane, tail, and hooves. From the beginning Poison Sting left a lasting impression on Shade with his deep hatred of all other creatures of weak blood.

Together the two set about fulfilling their plans of havoc and cruelty. Their first task was destroying the human village in which Shade had been living.

Sadly their job had been interrupted by a human loving demoness and the village had been saved in the end. This of course had angered the nightmaress greatly and she'd started the planning to attack the village yet again soon enough.

During this time the acquaintance between Shade and Poison, since one really couldn't call it friendship considering the pair, started to slide more and more to an evilly romantic partnership which soon resulted in two beautiful baby girls.

Upon seeing her girls moving for the first time a plan hatched in Shade's mind and she started dreaming of rebuilding the Nightmare herd to it's former glory. So her foals, along with those of another nightmaress Hell's Tear, and their mates were to become the first members of a new and very dangerous herd.

To join the herd you have to prove yourself to Shade, Poison, and your peers. You also must complete a task of Shade's choosing ((usually a reply to an rp prompt)). Tasks usually consist of going on a successful hunt, murdering a two-legger and bringing the body back, ransacking a two-legger village as the herd watches, or taking out a human lover horse.

Leader: NightShade - She has absolute power, her word is law and all herd members must respect her, her decisions, and her beliefs.

Protector (2nd in command): Poison Sting - He is second in command and Shade's life partner. He is also to be utterly respected and listened to by all members bellow him

Beta: Hell's tear and Jack, any and all of their and Shade x Poison's kids - Though the don't have as much power as the leaders they are still to be respected. They have complete access to shade at all times and are to be obeyed.

Tactition: To be appointed - This herd member gets to work closely with Shade and Poison to develop strategies regarding their attacks on human villages and other herds.

Shaman: To be appointed - This member of the herd is very revered, they help with the healing, birthing, and all around medical care of herd members. Not only that but they are Shade's personal advisers.

Warlord: To be appointed - This member is the one whom rallies the herd to prepare for battle or raids on two-legger villages.

Trainer: To be appointed - This member is usually an older well known warrior. They help to train the next generation and to help other members keep themselves in good condition.

Regular Members: This is everyone else. just being in this herd gets you many rights. Any herd member has the right to speak their opinion, and can take their views to Shade, Poison, and their advisers.

Training is offered to all herd members to improve their skills. It is required of newly grown adults to participate in at least basic training so they can at least have some kind of honed battle skills.

Any mates that new members wish to bring into the herd must conform to the ideals and be herd material or they won't be accepted as true blue blood herd members. As long as this mate does not try to change a member or interfere with herd policies they can live on the herd's border land and their partner may live with them should he/she choose to do so.
