.:: As I said in my intro, my bass (below) is quite thrashed. Lately I've been noticing that, under any form of duress, the A string's saddle collapses, making most of the notes dead and severely detuning it. The bass is a Musicmaster, and the bridge assembly, as I understand, is identical to the P-basses of the period (70's).

So, first question, how do I go about fixing that? New saddle? New Bridge? Maybe just a new screw?

The second issue is neck twist. The neck is visibly twisted so that the high frets on the strings towards the treble horn are muted or buzzy pretty badly, and don't get me started on intonation.

Some people have told me that this means it's ********, but my 6 string guitar had a twisted neck at first, and my uncle fixed it somehow (he's not available to do the same for my bass).

So yeah, also, how do I fix that, also?

.:: Guess I'll have to wait for him to come back from.. wherever he's doing missionary work. He said it was something to do with weights, clamps and messing with the truss rod. Sounds risky, imo. ::.

For your bridge problem I would suggest a new bridge, a leo quan badass bridge would give you the best bang for your buck, they're an upgrade/replacement bridge for fender basses. As for your neck problem, take it into a shop and have it fixed. I just got my bass back(sent it in for a warp in the neck). The guy heat set the neck and it now plays incredibly smooth. Heat setting the neck and leveling the frets costed me $72 so it'll probably be about $50 to get it done, a badass bridge will cost ya anywhere between $60-80.

.:: Eep, I wonder if they have any un-chromed stuff.. I'd look right silly with a thrashed guitar and a shiny bridge xD

That's fairly cheap, though, much cheaper than I expected for bridge straightening.
