Playing With Myself NINTENDO Pokémon Restrictions: Players may use Pokémon found in the Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl National Dex, between 001 and 491, including those Pokémon imported from earlier video games, with the exception of those Pokémon listed below. The following Pokémon are ineligible for use in the tournament: * 149 - Dragonite * 150 - Mewtwo * 151 - Mew * 248 - Tyranitar * 249 - Lugia * 250 - Ho-Oh * 251 - Celebi * 382 - Kyogre * 383 - Groudon * 384 - Rayquaza * 385 - Jirachi * 386 - Deoxys * 483 - Dialga * 484 - Palkia * 485 - Heatran * 486 - Regigigas * 487 - Giratina * 489 - Phione * 490 - Manaphy * 491 - Darkrai This quote was in regards to the rules for their upcoming international tournament. Now, has nintendo finally realized that there is something called "the Pokemon Competitive Battle Metagame," and that it has some sense built into it? That some of their pokemans are beastly compared to others? That, maybe, using said pokemans in a legitimate tournament is...unfair? Whatever the reason, Nintendo has stepped up and made itself a handy little Ubers list, which I think is a nice idea-- a little late, but hey, what can you expect from NIN-we're-gonna-release-brawl-soon-i-swear-TENDO. yeah, shut up, i know I also posted this in TOPG, but it needs to be seen by everyone.

Hooray for my belated reply.
They missed two of the most important ubers: Latias and Latios. Even without Soul Dew, those things are BEASTS. Either of them are sturdy enough to pull off Leftovers quite well, especially Latias. I think Dragonite and Tyranitar are only on that list because they evolve at level 55, and not because they're uber. Garchomp eats them both for breakfast, and still has room for seconds.
Other than that, it's nice they finally have an ubers list. Now if only they would ban moves too... (Double Team and Minimize, specifically) My Choice Scarf Dark Void Smeargle will win me many a battle either way under these rules, though...

But the latios and latias bit, yeah they need to be on the list. Along with Arceus... hes a b***h.

Wobbuffet doesn't help all that much in doubles battles, where it can only Encore or kill one opponent, and it is easily killed in two turns because of twice the number of attackers. Spartan-1357 spore is better than dark void, it does the same thing but has 100% accuracy. as for the uber ban list Dragonite and Tyranitar arent that great, you know that lucario that you have use its vaccum wave or bullet punch and youve got the thing by the balls, and the Dragonite start your team off with a stealth rocker, that way ittl weaken everything they throw out and not to mention signifigantly weaken flying types AND it will pwn Focus Sashers. But the latios and latias bit, yeah they need to be on the list. Along with Arceus... hes a b***h. Dark Void is far superior to Spore in Doubles battles because Spore only hits one opponent, while Dark Void hits both at the same time. Who needs superior accuracy when you can take both opponents out at the same time? Besides, Dark Void has a 96% chance of hitting at least one enemy, and a 64% chance of hitting both, so you're much better off using it than Spore when both are an option. Also, you could be trying to Spore the opponent that's Protecting, netting you nothing, while Dark Void would have an 80% chance to hit the one that isn't protecting, so Dark Void eases up prediction a bit. Also, although they're not on the list, you're not allowed to use Pokemon #492 and #493, since they don't even "exist" in America yet, and there is no way yet besides hacking and exploiting glitches (in an out-of-region game, too, mind you) to get them.

Well, T-Tar and Dragonite both have legendary stats (base totalling up to 600). Although Salamance and Garchomp have the same total base stats as well.
Removing T-Tar kind of sucks. TyraniBoah is such a good SkarmBliss counter.

T-tar, Dragonite, Salamence, and Garchomp are all used way too much, as they are all a pain in one way or another. I think banning them is good, because strategy is being forced upon you instead.

I don't really understand why the three cats (Entei, Suicune, Raikou) aren't on the list. They are pretty strong, aren't they?

dracokagebuyo I don't really understand why the three cats (Entei, Suicune, Raikou) aren't on the list. They are pretty strong, aren't they? They are more accurately described as the 3 Beasts. Raikou and Suicune have always been strong, but not the strongest; with base stats lower than Uber level and predictable strategies with definitive counters, it would be unjust for anyone to call them Uber. On top of that, they are legally obtained at level 40. Entei has always sucked, even more so now that quite a few BL/UU pokemon can do whatever job it was shooting for much better thanks to Flare Blitz.

Straying off for a while to bring up a buried topic... The thing is, they are supposed to be cats. Entei, Suicune, and Raikou look similar to the lion, leopard, and tiger respectively. Back on topic... [Pretending to actually listen to this]...I see...

ravemaster47 i can't help but realize that wobbufet and wynaut isn't on there. wouldn't that cause a problem if wobbuffet was used by people again? Wobbuffet is a gigantic problem in battles. A perfect prediction by a wobbuffet user, especially if tied with a Shell Bell, can be the most cheapest set in the game.
