Yeah... so far my party nearly dirtnapped right off the bat... because they fail against zombies... the rogue is the only one in the party who extensively uses slash damage... and the cleric can't seem to succeed in her Turn Undead rolls... the monk himself is weird... his bio is something like... he abstains from salt because it's too exciting... or something like that...

That's actually kind of funny, was it just bad luck or was it just bad decision making on their part?

Oh, nearly dirtnapped. I was going to ask why the heck the party failed to escape zombies. Even someone in full plate can outrun those...
What was the challenge rating of the encounter? IIRC a zombie's CR is 1/2, so a group of level 1 adventurers should have no problem taking on a group of two zombies, or even three or four if they are careful and rest afterwards.

The party consists of a gnome Cleric who wields a heavy mace and light crossbow, a rogue who wield a longsword, and a monk who is really freaked out by the idea of touching a zombie with his bare flesh so he tries to shank it... needless to say since zombies are... zombies... I just made them attack the nearest guy and decided that they would keep hitting their target no matter what, even when they're down... however... that plan changed when the rogue went down in one hit and the others can't hit for crap...

Dread Necromancer is actually a base class... I looked it up to be sure... they were level ONE.

The rest of the party really needs to get some slashing weapons. And the cleric needs to turn undead more.
Also, you are limiting the zombies to only one action per round, right? They can basically either move, or attack, as they only get one standard action and no move actions. In addition they can do a partial charge (move their movement speed (not twice like a normal charge) and attack, with +2 attack, -2 AC) if they can charge in a straight line to an opponent.

Ya... by the way... out of curiosity... how does transfer wounds work? It says it transfers 1 hp dmg per level to target...

Hello? Well anyways... on to the next question... has the Ravenloft adventure (yes the adventure, not the campaign) been updated to 3.5? I'm thinking of doing some undead adventures and then linking it up to the Tomb of Horrors for the campaign im running... then wait for a really long time for Return to the Tomb of Horrors to be transposed into 3.5e so they can kill the demilich dude...
