Anne of Green Gables Fanfiction Contest
Introduction:
This is the first contest in our guild and it will be a fanfiction contest. This contest will give you prompts and guidelines to follow for the writing of the contest fictions. You must follow the prompts when writing and you will be judged on your ability to stay within the guidelines as well as your creativity, how you treat the plot, you spelling and grammar, and the judges overall impressions of your story.

The Rules:
1. Obey the terms of service of Gaia.
2. No Bumping
3. Be nice to the crew and your fellow writers
4. Do not use Text talk in this forum or in your story.
5. Do not PM me your entry.
6. Do not Plagiarize.
7. Once you have submitted your entrance feel there will be no refunds if you decide not to participate in the contest (sorry it just makes things complicated and difficult).
8. When posting your story please make sure you clearly put a rating on it. If it has language or things that are inappropriate people let us know.
9. Keep this thread at a PG 13 level. We don’t need talk of sex and language in the thread.

The Contest Requirements:
We will only allow your entry to be judged if it meets all the following criteria.
-only ONE entry per person
-please post your entry or link it to this thread, do not start new threads for your story.
-entry free is 250 gold. Please start your Trades with me and label them Entry Free For Anne contest.
This Contest will Run From:
-May 25th to August 25th
-Contest ends on August 25th no exceptions.
Guidelines:
This story must take place between the time that Anne and Gilbert become engaged and the time they marry. Both are working, Gilbert is away most of the time and so this story will take place in the span of the months of summer when Gilbert and Anne are reunited in Avonlea.
What you CANNOT do:
-no original characters.
-Marilla must be Alive and Rachel is living at Green Gables with Davy and Dora Keith
-you cannot kill anyone.
-you cannot work outside of Avonlea - they stay there all summer.
What you HAVE to add to your story:
-Anne has a fight with someone - not Gilbert.
-Gilbert makes up a pet name for Anne - not Carrots
-Anne is writing a book, elaborate on its plot.
-Davy has his first crush on Mini May Barry
-Anne ruins a dinner in a comic way
-romance in the garden
-bring up an embarrassing memory of Anne’s
-someone must cry, get angry, and be forgiven
-there must be a very dangerous moment.
-Gilbert must sweep Anne off her feet and carry her across a threshold but they cannot be married.
-you must end the story with Marilla saying something very sentimental.

Judging:
Each Story will be judged by myself and three other judges. Then I will take a total score from each judge and take the average of all 4 scores and this is how we will determine the winners of the contest. In the event of a tie for first, second or third place I will offer double the prize amount, meaning, if there are two first place winners they will both get the winning prize in the exact amount offered.
Judging Criteria:
Requirement: /15
Convention: /5
Creativity: /20
Originality: /10
Spelling and Grammar: /10
Plot: /10
Overall Rating: /20
Total: /100.
Also Judges will give you two reviews with your story. One they will tell you what they really liked about the story. Two they will tell you something you could improve on.

Judges - Application:
I will be needing three Judges for this Contest. If you decided to apply the first three people that apply will be made judges after that point the rest of the people that show interest will have to wait for the next contest. I will be paying each of the three chosen judges a salary of 1000gold for this contest. Apply within this thread.

Oh wow this sounds like an awesome idea!! ^_^ I think that I might try it out if I can find some time. Is there a specific length needed? Do you have to use all the requirements that the story must have or pick one? Do the books have to be read in order to participate? I noticed that in the requirements that Davy has to have his first crush on Minnie May, but I've never read any of the books, so I'm not sure the background on that. I can fudge on it though.
This just sounds like a load of fun.

This just sounds like a load of fun. i am glad you are interested Rami, to answer your questions no there is no specific length. yes you have to use all the requirements. no the books do not have to be read. All you need to know about Davy and Dora is that they are twins that are distant relatives of Marillas and they come to live with her when their parents die. Davy is a trouble maker who loves to ask questions and Dora is the stereotypical Angel in the house and a perfect little child. They are between 8 and 10 when i would like you to base the story so its would be a little childish crush.
