Ok, so just now, I was chillin' and searching stuff on www.goodsearch.com (an awesome search engine btw, because everytime you use it, it gives money to the Charity of your choice from their giant list).

I was looking for another site like www.scripturecatholic.com (another great website btw) so I entered the words Catholic and Bible into the search engine. As I scrolled through the results, one in particular caught my eye.

"Anti-Catholic Bible"

Mildly intrigued, I clicked on the link. It took me to a catholic.com page that talks about anti-Catholicism. I read through it and found out that, apparently, there are actual anti-catholic organizations whose mission goal is to convert Catholics. Strange, right?

Now, because this flew completely under the radar for me, I was wondering if anyone else had come across these organizations?

I hope others are as surprised about these people as I am because it means you haven't had to put up with their conversion atempts. Still, I wanted to address some of the points of these groups so that we can all be prepared if and when we are ever confronted by such people.

Here are the sites I will be taking stuff from to respond to.
(Before you visit these sites, remember that the articles are made with the specific purpose of converting Catholics. That includes arguments against the faith as well as some not too kosher techniques meant to trick us. See the bottom of this post for more on this.)

Mission to Catholics International
Mission to Catholics International 2 (I'm not sure which one is the official homepage, so I'll use both)
Good News for Catholics (An interesting side note . . . a lot of the things on this site are written by a guy with the last name of McCarthy. teehee. I love irony.)
New Testament Research Ministries
Jack Chick (These ones are really easy to refute. Yet, for some reason, lots of people believe them. Hmmm. . . )

(I know there are a lot of other anti-Catholic sites out there and I might add some to this list later, but for now this is what I've got.)

I will try to post a new apologetic each week (it depends on how much research each one takes and how busy my job keeps me that week). You guys are more than welcome to post apologetics of your own (in fact, I'd encourage it) or to add onto/correct my posts. Whatever you're comfortable with.

Before I open this up for the apologetics, I wanted to first share a few pages from Catholic.com that talk about the anti-catholic movement and their techniques. As I said before, some of them are valliant efforts that try, yet fail, to understand the Catholic Church. Others are kind of dirty tricks. The former is what I want to spend most of my time discussing, but it's important to be aware of the later so that we don't hit those stumbling blocks. (Also, this started out as being just a list of sites that talk about the tricks, but it also has a lot of general apologitic info in it, so enjoy.)

Now, as a final disclaimer, I would like to remind everyone that, while some of these anti-Catholic arguments are very very sneaky and maybe even dirty, not all of them are.
There are plenty of anti-Catholics who are simply operating under misunderstandings and misconceptions of the Catholic faith.
Some people diliberately try to trick us and some people honestly feel that they are being completely truthful and helpful.
With that in mind, I know it can be frustrating to read attacks on your faith, but try not to be too harsh in your apologetics and I will try to do the same.

didnt even read all of this lol. ill have to some other time. but yes there are Anti Catholic organizations. one example is the Freemasons *im not insane they exist* they actually had one member infiltrate Vatican council and change the way the mass is run and thats the reason we have such a horrible mass and not the Latin Right Mass like we should. i cant remember the guys name ill have to ask my dad again. but it really did happen and its pretty horrible. =( i hate anti catholicism but i dont exactly hate the people you know? hate the sin love the sinner. now i do take a Templars approach to these sorts of things though so you through blows to Catholics i throw blows back. id die willing for my faith hell id kill for it but thats not exactly the best idea. but still i think having the templars back as a fighting organization might help lessen these organizations like the freemasons but then again it could have the exact opposite effect. well im sorta ranting so i guess ill stop

Anything specifically anti-Catholic is simply just a work of scummy ol' satan himself (I don't think his name deserves to be capitalized...) He is foolish though, since we who still believe after the lies need to keep refuting them, we only become stronger in our faith to try and win back our fallen comrades. Pray for the sub-creators of the organizations (satan is the creator of them) for they truly do not know what they are doing.
