The winters past like a fleeing breeze, lasting only a small blissful second before vanishing along with all the soft white snow that once blanketed the land. Now, before her, new life rose up from the dirt and painted the senery with reds, violets, blues, and greens. Many would admire the sight and sigh in wonder towards the mysteries of life and spring and all that useless romance. However, Tehila was not one of those 'many' and she surely did not enjoy spring one bit. You may ask why. From birth, her pelt had always been the purest of white, a beauty and gift, as many would call it; however, never did they pause to think of the tragety of not having an ounce of color to blend into the disgusting greens sweeping the land across. Luckily, Tehila was not one to be disheartened by such unfairness in life. Instead, she made do of what she had. At the moment, she faired well enough to afford a moment of silence in the soft shade of a meadow tree. Grass surrounded her on all sides and she, with lazy blue eyes, watched it sway and dance in the breeze. Her mind buzzed with an unfamiliar laziness that left her limbs tense and restless. Her ears were perk and swished back and forth to catch every ounce of sound and sometimes desperation created a soft illusion of footfalls. It was as though she hoped to meet someone interesting that day, someone to throw her from the useless patterns of her life.

Iris poked a small blue flower that resembled himself, not exactly realizing it. He was bored, true, but nothing had excited him much these oncoming attacks from Father Time. He rolled his head away from the flower and onto his stomach, curling up. His blue fur was scaly-looking, like in the design of a giant butterfly's wing. He peeked a single and lazy tangy, orange-yellowish eye up towards the fields before him and noticed the flower looked like it was 'smiling' back at him. "Shut up, you, just shut it..." For sure, he wasn't the best guy out there, and didn't exactly deserve such a promising life ahead of himself. Iris' ear twitched as he heard a small tinkle against the wind. "Great...Now the wind is making fun of me." He couldn't help but to lay on the small bed of flowers, and roll onto his stomach once more, closing his eyes shut. That's right, the season of harsh coldness had passed. He wasn't entirely happy, and he didn't know why. Well, he disliked the fact that everything 'dies', and it looks like there was no such thing as 'color, where the white, pure snow erases your worries like nothing ever happened... But what he did like...Was that he could have another year on his own again, like every other year. "What to do, what to do...It's all the same though...Year after year." ((Have to remind myself to fix Photoshop and make Iris a siggy-pic. 8D ))

Just as she gave into her immoble body, a low rumble tickled her ears. From her rest, she shot up, ears perked and body in tenseful anticipation. There, again, was a sound like a voice passing through the winds from a distance. Her head whipped to the side, bells chimming and mane sweeping through the air to follow the sudden movement. Her whole body was then thrown into motion as she rose from her position and eyed the distant grass with curious blue eyes. Surely her mind was not playing games?
She moved forwards, grass beneath her paw tickling her soles, and waited for a slow moment for her eyes to adjust to the daring glare of the sun. Then, her quick eyes passed over a flicker of blue in the distance. Muscles rippled under her now-thinned layer of white fur as she moved through the grass and blooming buds. The miniature wings on her back fluttered in excitement. She attempted to move silently, growing an awareness of the presence of the other ulaya. A playful smirk passed over her delicate expression.
Perhaps he saw her comming (or heard her bells) and perhaps he didn't. However, that wasn't going to stop her... Her body lowered into what grass was before her as she slowly crawled towards the resting blue figure. Suddenly, without warning, she launched from her spot in full hopes to startle Iris away with a good-hearted pounce!

Just the second his eyes shut a little, a startling pounce had tackled him down [but he's already down, what the heck. xD] into the dirt even more. He stumbled a bit, but turned his head back. Something, or maybe someone had jumped him, and peering back, he could see a slender, white figure on him.
Yeah, this knocked him out for good: A heavy jump and an abnormally beautiful ulaya with a tiny pair of dark wings pouncing him, he can barely see. He blinked his orange eyes at the flower before him that looked like it had continued to smile. And definitley, the jingle from before was NOT his head playing tricks. Irirs tried to look up to her, but managed to utter out with a tiny grunt. "Oi...Hiyoko*, try getting off me?" Finally catching her dark eyed glance with his own bright orange ones, he added small, "Please..?" He held a wolfish grin, hoping she would respond in a solitary manner back.
* = Hiyoko means 'chick' in Japanese

She grinned pleasantly as though perfectly content with saying right were she was; however, it seemed the blue male didn't share her amusement. Tehila lowered her head slightly to scrutinize his vibrantly colored eyes before her lips widened and she started laughing softly. Finally, she withdrew herself and sat calmly and well-mannered before him. Her long mane was now in a chaos, poking out of her head in all kinds of odd directions, making her look quite ridiculous. Her body was barely resting on the grass, ready to move in the male gave any sign of retaliating.
"You know, falling asleep unguarded isn't wise," she finally spoke up after a moment with a mildly haunting tone while offering a misplaced, peaceful smile.

Iris blinked. Meeting such a Ulaya like her was definitely a first. She seemed to be like she was wearing many masks of emotions. Not too nervous, not too chirpy. Plus, her strong tackle was pretty powerful, maybe explaining the backache And man, her mane was ridiculously wild looking, making her look like she had a wild side as well.
Her sudden change of emotions frightened him even a little, despite the graceful appearance she bore. Her voice was so gentle in the wind, carrying her bells' jingle with her voice. "Well, I'll be sure to remember that, miss."

She was calm for a moment before noticed a particular strand of hair out from her usually composed white hair. Laughing shyly, she reached a paw to flatten out her long strands the best she could. "So," she spoke up while patting herself off, "I'm Tehila."
The white ulaya eyed the male for a moment, watching his calm if not bewildered expressions with a slight amusement. "Enjoying the hideous weather?"

"Tehila, that's a beautiful name for such an elegant Ulaya like yourself. I'm Iris." He blinked at the bright sky's sun, then looked at her. "Enjoying the 'Hideous' weather? I don't exactly hate this weather, nor love it. I prefer Winter or Fall to Spring. "

A pleasant smile graced her lips as a, or what she assumed to be, compliment was offered to her. Her eyes followed his line of sight but then winced in both annoyance at the overly bright rays. She let a sigh. "Hideous indeed. This pearl white pelt stands out like a withering bud amongst a sea of blooming flowers and it's serves poorly for any sense of camouflage."
Then her eyes lit, remembering the cool whites of Winter. "Oh but Winter is a bliss with wonderful white and such a calming stillness."

"Hmm, very tranquil and peaceful, my way of seeing it." He had to agree with her, though her manner was like a giant mystery to him. "Camouflage isn't that good for me in the winter, though. Pity that it only takes place for such a limited time per year."

"True enough," She replied easily with a cheerful grin. Tehila was, surprisingly calm at the moment but it probably wasn't hard to tell she itched to do something exciting. "The only bad thing about winter is how snow slows me down and that's never much fun."
"So... what are you doing way out here?" She questioned finally while looking around and seeing nothing but grass and flowers and the occational tree.

"I was looking for someone to talk to. It's hard to find anyone to, since I prefer not to start the conversation." Iris chuckled, gazing out to the now clearing skies of blue.
"And you, Tehila?" The scenery had changed quite dramatically, but things like this happens a lot. It was only fair for the rest of the world, he guessed.

"Well that's no good," She answered. Tehila never found herself in that situation mainly because she favored starting conversations. She never minded giving other a little push.
"Me? Looking for something to do," she offered a thoughtful reply. "If you don't mind me saying, you're awefully pretty." She seemed to have a taste for bluntness today and expressed her opinions easily and truthfully. There was a peaceful and curious look on her face. It also didn't see to occur to her immediately that 'pretty' wasn't exactly the right word to describe a male.

"Really, it wasn't fun." The lonely period of silence was actually more calm then he had ever thought, but Tehila's company was much more better in any case.
"Pretty, me? I should be the one saying that to you, actually."

She looked down at herself for a moment. Yea, she's been told that she's fairly 'pretty' but never seemed to really process that in her mind. After all, they're usuall just being respectful. Catching the gleam of her necklace, she lifted a paw to tap the two bells causing it ring softly. "Silly, isn't it? Gives off my position like an alarm."
Tehila looked up and laughed in amusement. "I'm a walking problem."
