On a snowy island stands a mystic well that looms over the island. The well once contained a dark magic that would grant a person one wish, but at the cost of the dark magic taking over your body to protect itself from anyone else reaching the well. The last guards that guarded over the well were a group of three blind archers. Once Samurai Jack found that the well could grant a person one wish he stormed the well, and freed the blind archers from the dark magic that controlled him. Before Jack could make a wish the three warned him of the dangers of the well, and Jack wished for the well to be destroyed. Ever since that moment no one cares to visit the well anymore.

Luke had heard of the legend of the mystic well, and as he started to roam through the snowy land, he could slowly recall how the legend went. Three master archers were pit against one master samurai, the outcome was the samurai's victory, and for some unknown reason he destroyed the well. "He was here...A long time ago." Luke mumbled to himself, and reached the end of the forest. At the horizon he saw the tall tower, and the remains of a broken well at the center of the tower. He was standing a good ways away from the tower, but because of his superb eyesight Luke could easily see the ruined well. Unlike most people who have visited the well, Luke wasn't looking to make a wish, no, he was looking for traces of the legendary samurai.

Kego had reached the well before Luke had, but the samurai saw Kego's actions. 'What in the world was the man doing?' Luke thought to himself, and slowly made his way to the well. Once he reached the top of the tower, he saw that Kego had already entered the destroyed well. The samurai looked down at the well, and very hesitantly he started to make his way down behind Kego. He didn't know what he was doing anymore, but he felt as if someone, or something was pulling him in.

At the very bottom of the well held a sinister black liquid that dripped down the stone walls. In the center of the underground well held a small puddle of what looked like thick black water. Every now and then the puddle would create a bubble, and pop after it grew in size. The liquid seemed to be almost alive.

Kego looked at luke for a second but then looked at the well.'My i make a wish" asked kego. The well did nothing but then the black liquid shot up at kego and grabed him. Then more of the liquid raised up and formed into waht looked like a man.

Kego pulled out his sword and cut the liquid. Then twp puddles of liquid shot up at him but kego cut the two liquids in half with no trouble. All the liquid then formed in to one big monster.

"G-get away from that!" Luke shouted at Kego, and drew his sword simultaneously. The samurai gripped the hilt of his sword with both hands, and slowly advanced towards the sinister demon that was brewing in the underground cave. Was this the same demon that lived in the well of the legend? Would this demon really grant them a wish? By the way it's acted so far it didn't seem likely it was here to grant them any wishes.

"Both you samurai are strong...What do you wish for?" the voice seemed to appear out of nowhere, as the giant monster took a step forward. The monster was giving off a deadly black glow, and it would drip puddles as it spoke.

"We're not fools, demon!" Luke shouted at the monster, "I know of your wishes! You grant us our wish, but in return we have to give you our bodies!" he gritted his teeth, and took a step closer to the monster. "Don't fall for his trap, we should just kill it." the samurai spoke to Kego.

Kego breathed deep and held his sword strong."Why dose it half to be this way i was so close to bringing him back to life" said kego.He looked at the ground held his sword tight.Kego jumped up and cut the monsters head but the monster hit kego throwing him into a wall. The monster then went to step on kego.Kego rolled out of the way as he cut the monsters foot off.It was no use the foot then hooked back together.Kego stood there holding his sword ready to attack."Im sorry" said kego to luke."I should have not asked for a wish" said kego.

"We'll defeat it together!" Luke nodded sternly at Kego, and readied himself. He brought his katana down, and dashed towards the large black monster, once he got close enough to it he jumped into the air, and made a clean slash across the monster's neck. Luke rolled on the ground to soften his fall, but when he looked up at the monster, he saw he had done no damage at all to the demon. "His body is like liquid...Cutting it won't do anything." he mumbled under his breath, and started to scan the monster as if trying to find some kind of weakness.

The well is nothing anymore. Naught but cracked stone, and an endless pit.

No....there is someone...

A thick, watery form, grasped the edge of the well with one ill formed hand, like fungus. With a faint splash, it fell upon the stones of the tower. It shifted and formed, like liquid clay, clear blue and shifting. But slowly, a form appears. Proper hands and feet. A slim waist. Delicate shoulders. And finally a head, hair flushing out into a soft, dark mess on her hair. A woman. It must have been a woman.

But she didn't seem so sure. She looked at her hands. Her body was clothed....or rather, had taken the memory of being clothed. Memory...yes. That was important.

She thought back. Foggy visions swarmed her head. A woman falling down a dark hole. A small child leaning over to drop a flower to her. Another human...a broad man with a crown, shouting down at her. And darkness...oh the darkness! It slipped over her vision like a thousand snakes, dragging her down, tying her away. She almost felt it.

Dark wishes. Wretched wishes. Slave to the well.

And...that light. Had it always been there? Crashing down and freedom! Freedom! After so many decades of darkness, of abuse, of her fate being crushed by the cruel wishes of demons! A fierce purge...the beasts were long gone. And now, after a long, patient climb. There was only her.

"Chiyoshi." she said aloud, as if testing the word on her tongue. Yes...Thousand Wishes. It is appropriate. She looked up to the sky, the snow coming down in a light patter. She raised her hands in a prayer, looking to an unseen deity.

"Oh Jin," she murmured, "God to wishing wells, to genies, to dreams! Bless you for bringing him into my life. Bless you for my freedom! I will find him..."

She left the tower. She faced the sea. And as a ship came, she uttered her solemn oath.

"Your wish is my command...Master Jack!"

"Good morning." a voice whispered in Chiyoshi's ear. Before her stood a woman dressed in the purest of white robes. Her face was fair, but partly covered in a war helmet. The goddess removed her helmet, and knelt down besides the embodied spirit. The goddess seemed to radiate beauty as she exchanged smiles with Chiyoshi. "My name is Athena," she took a step closer to Chiyoshi, "and I am here to help you, so you can help me." Despite others being around Chiyoshi on the boat, she only made herself visible to the spirit before her. "I have sensed your passion to find the samurai. Your intentions are pure...Which is why I want your help. Aku's reign has progressed for too long now with the samurai's imprisonment. You must free him." Reaching into the sleeve of her robe, the goddess placed an enchanted gold compass in Chiyoshi's hand.

"This compass will lead you to Aku's palace, where the samurai resides. However," Athena turned the compass over. Underneath the compass were small indentations. "Aku has not made it easy to find his palace. You will have to search for the mystic stones in order for the compass to work." Upon closer examination, there were four indentations underneath the respective point of direction. "I'm sorry I can not help you anymore then that, for I cannot meddle in human affairs too much." Athena placed a hand on Chiyoshi's. Her hands were warm. "There are others that will help you free the samurai. You are not alone." just as quickly and quietly she had appeared, Athena departed the same way.
