For those of you who don't know I got a new one (right forearm) it's a phoenix with the words "out of the darkness, into the light" above it and Melissa's name in a ribbon being held in the claws of the phoenix.
I'll get Mel to take a picture and post it (I am very proud of this because I designed it.) that brings me to the reason for this post. Do you have any tattoo's that have a special meaning and what is the meaning?
As far as mine, the phoenix represents the end of my life and the rebirth of it that Mel brought to my life. She brought me "out of the darkness and into the light."
I have several more planned and I'll keep ya'll (sorry I do live in Texas) updated.

I have Superman's crest tattooed on my left shoulder. It might not seem like a significant tattoo to most, But personally the concept behind Superman has always amazed me. Here is a man with powers well beyond amazing, who could do anything, accomplish anything, control anything, and yet, all he does with his abilities is help people. And he never backs down. Even when things are bad, and his enemies seem undefeatable, he never gives up. That's the type of person I have always strived to be.

SilverM0on, would you design my next tattoo??? wink Currently I have 1 on my lower back of a butterfly and a tribal background!
That was done 3 years ago and I would like to add on to it. It's significance would be the lifespan of a butterfly is short however while in existence it accomplishes so much.

I just cringe at how old tattoos look on old folks ... and I just keep getting older! eek

Alex,
Have to share a bit of an "inside joke". When I first diagnosed, my family wanted to share the news however no one in my family had heard of this nor knew much about it.
My dad told people that I had Multiple Dystrophy eek My brother told his friends that I had MSN rolleyes
Needless to say they all have been edumacated and know all there is to know about MS!

It was funny before, now it's hilarious! Well, your families re-action, not the actual MS...
Reminds me of a joke: It's all fun and games until some one loses an eye. Then it's a comedy session.
